The well
One day, a man fell into a well. He looked at his feet and saw another well at the bottom, and inside it was another man trapped. The latter looked up and asked the first man if he could help him climb up, but the first said there was nothing to help him climb. The second man also had another well beneath him, at the bottom of which was yet another man asking for help, looking up from the depths of his well. And beneath him, there was another man. And another. And another. And so on. They all told the man below them that they had nothing to help him climb up. In reality, each of them had a rope, with which they could have pulled up the one below. If everyone had helped the one beneath them, little by little they all would have climbed up to the topmost well, and from there they could have escaped by making a human ladder. That would have been the most logical solution for everyone; however, once adopted, none of them would have had anyone at their feet who was further from salvation. Therefore, no one decided to help anyone else, and they all spent the rest of their days in the shadows, in darkness. That's a story I heard from Natalino Balasso, a comedian from Veneto, I hope it is well written Have a good day😎 Buona giornata🇮🇹 Ad Maiora!💫

It's not that they don't want to ask for help from others, but that they prefer to stay each in their own well, because at least this way each of them is envied by those in the lower wells. They don't want to save themselves because if everyone got out of the well, there would no longer be a hierarchy of who is worse off, and if there is no hierarchy, those in the wells closer to the surface can no longer be envied by those in the more distant wells. Wealth is not an absolute value. Many years ago, having a television at home meant you were rich because few people had one. Now everyone has one, so it’s no longer a symbol of wealth—nobody envies you for having a TV. When people say they want to become rich, it’s not because they want a fancy car, a villa, or a Victoria’s Secret model… they want to be envied. People’s goal is not to save themselves, but to console themselves knowing that someone else is in a lower well.
Just Another Sunday in a Blazer
As many of you have become aware, the navy blazer and wrangler khakis have hardly gone a Sunday without being worn in the last few months. Today was no exception, and I also wore my two favorite Brooks Brothers ties to complete the look. Question for the officers/ccw guys here: Do you carry in church/houses of worship? I have found that a small enough gun can simply be pocketed in a good pair of jeans without a holster for maximum comfort and concealment. Fast access could be potentially more difficult, however. What are your thoughts? 10x "Rodeo King" open crown hat in slate Ralph Lauren navy blazer Light blue cotton oxford Brooks Brothers ties Lee Allison pocket square Wrangler khaki jeans Justin Python boots 1968 Colt Python in .38 spl

Handle disrespect
Hi, I wanted to share a reflection with you about a video by @Antonio Centeno on how to deal with disrespect, by bringing up a personal anecdote from when I used to work as a waiter. In the restaurant, the waiter’s job was to bring dishes to the tables, clear them, or wash glasses behind the bar. I was the only one who was good at washing glasses, but not very good at carrying dishes, so I stayed at the bar. For some unknown reason, though, my boss wanted me to stop working at the bar and start clearing tables. It would take too long to explain the whole story, but basically, I felt frustrated and disrespected. I wanted to speak up, to explain my point of view and earn respect for my skills. But trying to tell my boss how to run his restaurant would have only made him feel stupid—and out of pride, he would’ve belittled me in return. So I obeyed and started going around the tables to “clear” them: I took the used glasses to the bar—where nobody was washing them. The result? The bar got so clogged with dirty glasses that the bartenders could no longer serve beer to the customers. My boss eventually realized how dumb his decision had been and sent me back behind the bar to wash the glasses. The moral of the story is that trying to prove to an idiot that you’re competent is needlessly difficult. And if someone just wants to boss you around, you don’t always have to push back to earn respect. Sometimes, it’s better to follow stupid orders—as long as you do it like a robot. Being a boss and giving orders is a tough job. If a boss treats you with disrespect, make their job even harder. Just remember: they can punish you for disobedience, not for "stupidity." Let me know your opinions and eventually some of your personal experiences Have a good day😎 Buona giornata🇮🇹 Ad maiora!💫
