Preventing Muscle Loss as we age
Protect Your Muscle as You Age or Use GLP-1 Jabs Turning 40+ or taking weight-loss injections like semaglutide or tirzepatide? Here’s something important: You can lose a surprising amount of muscle along with fat. This is called sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss) or “skinny fat” risk on GLP-1 meds. Losing muscle slows your metabolism, reduces strength, and makes daily life harder. Good news: Two simple, well-researched supplements can help protect and even build muscle: ✅ Essential Amino Acids (EAAs) • These are the 9 amino acids your body can’t make on its own. • They directly trigger muscle protein synthesis (the process that builds and repairs muscle). • Especially helpful when appetite drops on GLP-1 meds or when it’s harder to eat enough protein. • Look for a formula rich in leucine — it’s the key “on-switch” for muscle building. ✅ Creatine • One of the most studied supplements ever. • Helps your muscles produce energy, so you can train harder and recover better. • In people over 40, it supports muscle mass, strength, and even reduces fall risk. • Pairs perfectly with resistance training. Simple combo for best results: • Take EAAs (especially around workouts or between meals) • Add 3–5g creatine daily • Lift weights or do resistance training 2–4 times per week • Aim for enough total protein in your diet This stack helps you lose fat, not muscle — so you stay strong, energetic, and healthy long-term. Who’s already using EAAs + Creatine? Drop your experience below 👇 Let’s keep our community strong! 💪 Here's a link to the recommended products, chosen for quality & purity https://iherb.co/7beMmrjJ

I'll be in next week...but here's a story. Monday evening...started with a pain in the mouth, not too bad, gums a bit sore but pain relief tablets helped. By Wednesday the pain was getting worse and on Wednesday night, early morning excruciating...2am call to the NHS 24 hour Dentist line... And a promise that a dentist in Coventry would contact me... Thursday morning, 7.15am, I was at my dentist in Kenilworth with the request that I would sit in the waiting room as long as it took for perhaps a cancellation...8am... A slot... And root canal on one of the few teeth I have left...dentists weren't the same in the 60s... But, mam the relief. Now, the main point, the pain and the lack of sleep left me with a foggy mist in the brain, tiredness, listlessness, and weak as a kitten... Even today I should go to the gym...but I know the workout would be half hearted and, perhaps, dangerous as I stubbornly fight my body, that is still fighting the infection... It's a lesson.

@Marina Angelides It's interesting to see the devastating effect pain and lack of sleep has on mental and physical strength and highlights the plight of wars
Home made Keto Desserts
For the Orthodox Easter this year I made a selection of keto friendly desserts by adapting regular recipes and replacing wheat flour with Almond and Coconut flour and regular sugar with either Allulose or Stevia and gua gum as a thickener and Gelatine to set the Jellies. They went down really well. So you see we can enjoy desserts and don’t have to go without.

Under the weather!
I’m having a little time out until my head cold passes. I’ve made a pot of chicken and lemon soup to keep me going and curling up with Teemo. Should be back on track and full steam ahead hopefully soon 🤧

Fun Fact...Chicken Soup for a cold? The Tudor had plague victime put the rear end of a live chicken under their armpit...in the belief that sweat transfered the plague into the chicken???

For the Brave! 😝
Woh! This has got some kick! started my day with a shot of what I call ‘fire in the tummy’ because it can burn fat and melt inflammation. I definitely notice within just a few days, a flatter tummy when taking this.
