Wining tips for us crooked girlies!
Hi Luna/ ladies! So - as you can see here when I’m “throwing it back”/ wining, my movement is limited. Today I learned why after an x-ray - I have very worn discs in my lower spine and a totally messed up pelvis 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 So… I am awaiting chiropractic treatment to help me get my full range of motion again! Other than practicing/ stretching - are there any other tips you can give to help get a good range of motion when wining? 💖💖💖💖💖💖

dutty waist choreo
this video is from summer 2021, and now looking back it looks pretty good, this is 100s and 100s of runs of this choreo to get to what you're seeing in this video🥴🤣 dancing is not a natural talent of mine, especially not choreo. I want to try to get this one again and see if I improved over the years of practicing the techniques. I'll try to practice this week and hold myself accountable to post an updated video

Self-Love Thoughts (Support Edition) 💕
Some thoughts that came to me today as I processed how I feel about people’s comments on my body now, especially when I don’t feel my greatest. Lemme know what you guys think 💛

Thank you for sharing this, Luna! I really appreciate that you talk about this and also that you share your work process of learning new challenging dances. I have deep admiration for you! I believe it is great to have healthy body goals and work towards them, as it does not only make one look better -under one’s own standards- but feel better in general (stronger, with more energy, confidence, etc.). Sometimes though I feel we can get carried away by how the future could look better and do not stop and appreciate what we have now. How the fact that we can find room for improvement does not mean that we are not already good or beautiful, and also can lead to disregard how the body carries history and experiences that we should embrace and see with more care and understanding. In the end, it has allowed us also to enjoy life and learn through movement, dancing, interactions, sensations. I am also quite critical of what the beauty standards are and try to follow more inclusive ones. I grew up with the U.S. 2000s pop culture everywhere and I have come to realize how dangerous those standards were. I have moments where I find so many things I would like to change but then I receive such nice comments that can only motivate me. I think it is nice to take that recognition coming from the outside as it is also a part of us we do not see because we are focused on who we want to become or are just very self-critical (that’s me hehe). I try not to project all of this in the nice comments I receive by the people I love/like and take them as coming from a place of love, as we do deserve love. The bad comments usually have been from men and could not care less now 😂. I just remembered how some people made fun of me when I started pole dancing or trying a new dance style, which really affected me, and now they are liking my dance videos 😒. So, I always remind myself to check where these comments come from and work towards my goals with love (from myself and others) and generally, that being disciplined does not mean to forget being gentle to yourself.
