New cat wheel!
My partner and I just had a new cat wheel delivered yesterday, and I wanted to share my excitement! We had one given to use for free which had been passed between owners whose cats weren’t that interested in it. It was 3 feet wide and wooden. It was great for our cat, Teemo, when he was a kitten/teen, but it was a little small for him as an adult. He could walk or do a little trot on it, but clearly struggled to go full speed like he wanted to. It was also pretty loud, which made it difficult to hear the TV or sleep while he was on it. The one we just bought is 4 feet wide and plastic. It was from the company One Fast Cat for $199. The price made us hesitate to buy it for a while, but we finally made the decision to upgrade. So far, we and our cats love it! Teemo is starting to build the confidence to go faster. Our other cat, Daffy, is interested in it unlike her disinterest with the old one, but Teemo is still learning to share with her. It’s also much much quieter. I’m going to share some videos so y’all can see it in action. Plus a video of them trying to go on it at the same time which I found hilarious. They seem more motivated at this point when I give them verbal encouragement, so the audio is a little annoying, but I’m leaving it in so y’all can hear the noise level. I’ll try to post updates on how their confidence going faster goes and how well the wheel holds up. Do any of y’all have wheels for your cats? If so, how was your experience with them?

Answer to yesterday’s question: Question- What type of mammal is a platypus? Answer- The platypus is in the mammalian subclass called Monotreme. This subclass is for egg laying mammals. Despite laying eggs, a platypus is a mammal because it is warm-blooded, has fur, and produces milk to feed its young.

Answer to previous question: The female hornbill looks for a hole in a tree trunk to use as a nest. Then, with help from her mate, she seals herself in the hole by covering the entrance with droppings and mud, leaving only a narrow slit. The narrow slit reduces predation and stops other hole-nesting birds from taking over the nest. The droppings serve as a bug repellant for the nest. The male will then hunt for food for both himself and his partner until the seal they’ve made is ready to be removed.

The previous question: How do butterflies taste things? Answer: A few receptors can be found on their antennae and proboscis but the primary way they taste is with their feet. Butterflies have the majority of their taste receptors on their feet.
