I play, record and produce my own music, so no time for other stuff 🤟
Wavelab 13
no one ever said a word about the wavelab 13 release... are there no users here? if there are, did you find anything useful beyond track coloration? If there aren't, I get it, I moved to it just because its the last wave editor that can use waves plugins. For everything but the wave editing, cubase is kind of nicer, especially if you have any control surfaces. This feels like a shortcoming at this stage in the game. Just the same, i'll probably update it if they do a summer sale. Or maybe I'll update rx instead if they miraculously make waves work again (and still exist to fix it...)

Hi Brian, I use Wavelab and I just updated to version 13. As in most cases with updates and upgrades from Steinberg I would recommend to skip a version... 😅 or wait until they reduce the upgrade price to 49,99 . The biggest change is now that you can master for Dolby Atmos Master Montage. Don't ask me what it is since I have no idea. There are some good changes in the workflow which I like and also the mastering chain has been upgraded into a better workflow. But then again I see no "new" functions in the mastering chain, it is a more modern look. I don't know if you had a look already but here are all the changes in Wavelab 13 https://www.steinberg.net/wavelab/new-features/ Overall I like Wavelab, especially since it is integrated with Cubase pro and you can export to any file format you like. Last but not least don't underestimate the metering functionality in Wavelab, this is very good! So have a look and decide for yourself if the new features have any added value for you 🤟
Hey everyone, I wanted to share a project I’m really proud of.
One of my artist clients and friends, @Canyon Cottle, just released his debut album, and it’s been about a year in the making. I met Canyon at a local open mic back in my hometown and was immediately struck by his songwriting, voice, and sincerity. At the time, he didn’t even have music on Spotify yet, and now here we are with a full album out in the world. This project has been a joy to work on. Canyon takes his craft seriously, puts in the work, and genuinely loves making music. He’s got big goals of touring, traveling, and continuing to grow as an artist, and this release is a huge step in that direction. If you’re into mountain folk / indie folk-pop vibes, I think you’ll really enjoy this one. And more than anything, I just want to give Canyon a public high-five because writing and recording an album is not easy, and seeing it through to the release takes commitment and heart. Congrats, Canyon. Proud of you, dude! Here’s the album if you want to check it out: https://open.spotify.com/album/0zIlKfRX6Eq11BlZBUsX2v

Wow 👌 Well done you both! Some songs will be added to my playlist 😊
Recording Vocals
After a few questionable gear decisions, I now own a Sennheiser E965, Rode NT1-A, and AKG C3000, and I’m overthinking which one to use for vocal recording. Which mic will actually make my recorded vocals sound great instead of exposing all my bad habits? What are the key sound differences between them? Or take a vote which one I should use 😊

@William Yung Thanks William, I appreciate your feedback. Yet another thing to try out... the reverb... I noticed a huge improvement after the room treatment. The voice is now without the "high tones" from the room itself. I do not know the AKG Perception 820 mic but will look it up.

@William Yung William I found a very interesting article about the AKG Perception. If you're interested...below is the link https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/akg-perception-820
Tonalic by Celemony
Has anyone given Tonalic a try? Looks interesting.

I received the simple version via Melodyne, if you are a melodyne user you get a stripped down version of Tonalic. My first attempt was not really very successful, maybe it is because I am a guitarist and all I got was the guitar part of Tonalic. I tried a couple of songs to add a guitar with Tonalic but I found sometimes that the choice of chords was at the least questionable. But be aware this could be a knowledge problem from my site since I only installed it a few days ago. 😅 The sound quality is good though there are some nice acoustic guitars and also the picked electric guitars sound very professional. Im just curious that if we all start using this if all guitar patterns will be the same or that there will be regular updates. If you are not a guitarist I can imagine this can help you but maybe you can ask a friend (or maybe this forum) to play the guitar part for you.🤟 One other thing is the subscription... I don't like it.. I rather pay for software... not rent it ..
