RAG vs. CAG
Hi everyone,I’ve tested several RAG workflows, including the Agentic RAG workflow by Cole. Unfortunately, I’m still not happy with the quality of the results. I just came across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzMzRH1308Y – it explains that CAG might deliver better performance.Has anyone here worked with CAG? And if so, is there a CAG template available to try it out? Thanks!

@Mirko Salzer I’ve looked into the CAG system a bit. The large context sizes you refer to only apply to models that run in the cloud. But since we’re dealing with sensitive data, local deployment is essential. The problem seems to be: most locally running models still have much smaller context windows, so that advantage disappears in practice. I found a setup that isn’t N8N-based but already quite advanced:https://github.com/hhhuang/CAG . Max. Context 150 pages

@Alberto Madero as far as I know it depends on the type of the data. as long as it’s plain text CAG or RAG should be both suitable. but as soon as you have different type of data, such as tables, etc. then you need some more sophisticated approaches
Support for Tavus API
About a week ago, Tavus released a amazing demo of Charlie, a chatbot, using its Conversational Video Interface. It is apparently built on three of its models: Sparrow, Raven, and Phoenix. I am keen on using these models to conduct real-time interviews in n8n but there is no native node support for this app. At the present time, the demo is a bit laggy, partly because it apparently processes the input in large chunks and latency becomes a problem as it formulates a response. As humans, we process audio input asysnchronously, that is, we process cognitable chunks of it as we hear them but I don't believe the state of the art in conversational video AI is there quite yet. Wait a few weeks. @Nate Herk would you consider doing a demo of how to use the http node to implement api calls to Tavus?

This is the workflow: My user asks something to the AI Avatar. The AI Avatar sends the question to Tavus.Tavus checks:👉 "Can I answer this myself?"👉 "No? Then I need help!"Tavus then shouts: "Help!" → This is the Tool-Call. My Call-HTML file is listening. It hears: "Tavus needs help!"My Call-HTML sends the question to n8n.n8n receives the question.n8n thinks for a moment and says:👉 "I will ask my RAG Agent".👉 "Here is the correct answer!"n8n takes the answer and sends it back to Tavus.→ Tavus reads the answer and continues talking.

Yes, I was just about to check if RAG works in principal. I am struggling with callback AND toolcall integrating in my index and call HTML files...
🚀New Video: Research ANYTHING and Get a PDF Report (free n8n template)
For a deeper discussion on optimizing this workflow, let's chat here. In this video, I break down how I built the most in-depth AI research system in n8n—capable of generating detailed research reports with all sources linked for just $0.50 per report! 🚀 You'll see: ✅ How the system gathers and analyzes data ✅ How it compiles a PDF research report ✅ Key optimizations to make it even more efficient Everything you need to set up this workflow is linked in the template that's attached to this post! @Nate Herk Amazing!!! It´s working now. Maybe the API needs a day off. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!! I really appreciate it!!!
