I almost quit before it got interesting.
Started this whole AI journey thinking I'd build something impressive in week one. Week two I was still confused about what tool to even start with. Kept comparing myself to people posting wins and thought maybe this just wasn't for me. Then I stopped trying to build the "right" thing and just built whatever annoyed me most that week. First automation saved me maybe 20 minutes. Second one I'd actually use every day. Turns out the gap between "I don't know where to start" and "this is actually working" is way smaller than it looks from the outside — it's just not a straight line. What was the thing that finally made it click for you?
I need a push!!!!
@Lindsay and @Nate just watched you video on I stopped learning AI…. I have that PROBLEM!!!! Im building and building and not finishing but I have a potential client with 12 locations that will use my system but cannot get the system finished. I NEED HELP WITH THE MWNTAL GAP I NEED TO FILL!!!!!

You need to be able to solve problems or else
Being able to solve your own problems is far more important than having a bunch of tools. If your goal is to build solutions for businesses and get paid, you need to be self-sufficient and figure things out on your own. A standard thing I keep seeing is, for example: - I'm lost and I don't know what to focus on - I don't know what to learn next - How do I use Claude This is not hating on the idea of asking questions. It's more about the fact that you have access to Google, Perplexity, and AI to help you. The first step is to do your research, compile it, and come to a conclusion. If you can't do this, it will be hard to solve problems, because you'll be asking for help at every single step. I'm grateful I have this skill and know what to ask and how to solve problems. But to build up that muscle, you need to use it as often as possible.

Today I tried something uncomfortable:
I showed the system to someone outside the “AI space.” And honestly… best feedback so far 😭 Because they didn’t care about: - prompts - workflows - automations - any of the technical stuff Their only questions were: “How fast does this save me time?” and “Does this stop leads from slipping through?” That hit me hard. Builders love explaining features. Clients care about outcomes. So I spent most of today simplifying the onboarding even more. Removed: - unnecessary setup steps - technical wording - extra configuration Trying to make this feel less like “software” and more like: “plug this in and your lead flow gets cleaner.” Still early, but I finally feel like I’m building around actual business pain instead of just cool tech.

This is such a critical shift in thinking. The clients who actually stick with you long-term are the ones seeing measurable results in their business—faster response times, fewer leads slipping, money saved. Everything else is just noise to them. The 'what does this actually do for my bottom line' question is what separates fluff from real value.

Looking to connect with like-minded builders and explore what's possible with AI. Still figuring out the best direction, but excited to be part of this community and learning from everyone here. Based in NYC, and passionate about discovering new opportunities. Looking forward to engaging with everyone!
