Securing Gym Space!
My next step for my training business is to secure a consistent gym space in my area. I live in a smaller community with not a lot of gym spaces (No YMCA's or public gyms available unfortunately). Any tips or advice on finding a space but also securing one would be much appreciated!!

Analyzing Film before Skills Session
When preparing a skills session for high level players and you are watching film in preparation, what are the things that you coaches are looking for, specifically? Should you focus on one area or attack multiple things? Would really appreciate some insight from fellow coaches.

I'd watch the film and reach out to the coach the player you're training is currently playing for to get their feedback. A few of my girls forwarded me their exit interviews from their college coaches and I'm making a summer workout plan off of that while adding to their toolbox for next year. Goodluck

Id personally try to find a few full games to skim through to see how they are actually used within the system if they are returning to that team then build off that. For example getting to two feet is something ill be working with one of my players with. I had a convo with her after watching games and let her know shes leaving 8-10 points off the board because shes not getting to two feet in the paint anymore. Shes like a frieght train getting downhill but then rushing at the rim. She made the transition from high school to college and it was a bit tough for a while but we will fix it this summer haha
How should you approach coaching beginners?
I would tend to believe that I have a great understanding of basketball and seeing details that players might miss. What I struggle with is breaking that down for players that have no prior experience. So coaches, how do you guys approach sessions/skills development with players that are brand new to basketball?

Id say most important for younger athletes is make it fun first. 1) Fun warmup games working on listening and fast twitch muscle development. 2) Fundamentals first when it comes to shooting is also important I've attached a video of my daughter working on her ball path when she was 7 without a ball 3) Also important to scale your equipment to the age. Ball size and net height are important. 4) Keep the training short and fun and be able to adjust to the athletes attention span. Goodluck

Thunder too deep IMO....wemby is a 7'5" problem though....but SGA too consistent on his way to be a generational player
