Weekly Fitness Wins Thread of... Wins!
Hey folks! Thought it might be cool to have a place where if you're proud of an accomplishment fitness-wise and need a bit of applause, let it rip! Maybe you figured out a Total Gym setup that confounds even Mike D, or was able to get through a resistance band workout without a snap, or maybe just a walk around the block!

Heck just getting a workout in with my current schedule is a win!

Does anybody have an issue with the height adjustment pin sticking when you try to pull it out? Any replacement pins out there that work better?

Did you try a disassembly, clean it up with some glass cleaner and then put it back together using some graphite as a lubricant?
Mini-Update Of Community
Want to give you guys a heads up that this community is really for getting some of you like minded people together. I've been bad about promoting this group, but I honestly just want to start small first. If you’ve got workouts, setups, ideas, or even questions, feel free to post them. Doesn’t have to be perfect. In a couple weeks I'll be giving out structured courses inside here focused on things like: - Hybrid resistance training - Sliding bench training - Resistance bands - But before I build anything, what would actually help you the most? A full program? Exercise breakdowns? How to structure workouts? Something else? Feel free to drop it below as I’m building this around what you guys actually need. Likely the first course will be the "The Art of Sliding Bench Training" but I'm all ears.

How about some target exercise for some of us with arthritis. At some point a new hip is in my future but not yet. One of the reasons for my total gym journey is the low impact on my hip while still being able to work the lower body. I know that the sliding bench trainer isn’t the best but for what I am after, keeping in shape, it works perfectly.

@Barry L oh ya, I agree. My Doc wants me to wait a bit longer for the replacement but I get it inflamed pretty quickly on the TG. Body weight squats even quicker. Using the leg rope system helps keep it stretched out as well. I try to balance exercise of the hip with pain management attempting to stay away from the diclofenac.
Welcome to Hybrid Resistance Training
This is where I’ll be organizing how I actually approach training across different tools, programming, special courses, and building a community of likeminded trainees. Most people get stuck thinking they need one “best” method. For me the goal is to combine not only what works, but also apply it in a way that’s practical and sustainable long term. Inside here I’ll be sharing: - Training ideas and setups - How I use bands, cables, sliding bench trainers, machines, and free weights together - Answers to your questions as they come up - Foster a Community 👉 Feel Free to Introduce yourself below (or on another post) and let me know what equipment you’re currently using (bands, Total Gym/sliding bench, dumbbells, etc.) That’ll help me shape what I share in here moving forward. Community Guidelines • Be respectful and encouraging. • Constructive discussion is always welcome, but personal attacks and negativity are not. • Remember that different training methods can all be effective. Keep an open mind and respect that others may have different goals, preferences, and experiences. • Share your successes, ask questions, and help others whenever you can. To get things started: Questions? Feel free to post your questions in the community. One of the best parts of this group is learning from each other's experiences, and often another member may have already solved the same problem you're facing. I'll jump into discussions and answer questions whenever I can, but I won't always be available or able to respond to every post personally. If you're looking for more individualized guidance, I'll be opening additional one-on-one consultation opportunities in the future. You can also reach me at: 📧 Mike@HybridResistance.com The information shared within this community is intended for educational purposes only and reflects my professional opinions and personal experience. Always consult your physician or another qualified healthcare professional before beginning any exercise program.

Hello all, my name is David. My young days consisted of motocross and gymnastics. Twenties had rendered some poor decisions and l left the athletics behind and started raising kids and manual construction work. I have been with the same company for 35 years and have progressed into leadership. My body did pay a toll during the manual days. Recently I am dealing with aging parents and do not want to be in their shoes so I started looking. Found a total gym on facebook marketplace and bought it. Wanted accessories and it was less expensive to buy another total gym than it was to buy the accessory. I am in two deluxe machines, a 1600, a 1700 club ( nice machine that my wife uses ), a Gr8 flex and a total gym fit. I did buy five bands and some misc weights off of marketplace. Also bought a collapsing x exercise bike. Been going at it consistently for about 5 weeks and feel great. Just looking to get into shape. The total gym is working great as I do suffer from arthritic hips. 6’1 and 240. My best weight when manually working was 215 so I would like to get into that neighborhood. Nice to meet you all. Thanks Mike for the vids, you have been an inspiration! Oh and I am 56 yo
