Day 2 - Reflections. Here's to the delivery skills of the presenters
I deliver Leadership and Management training in the UK, and originally my main focus in attending the AI Summit was to see what I could learn about the topic of AI that might be valuable to share on with my learners. That 'box is being ticked', of course, but I'm noticing that this original aim is being overtaken by the drive to employ AI myself, both to save the hours/time, yes, but to actually help me take ideas that I have always had, and make them a thing, ...make them a reality. One of the things that dawned on me following day 1, and was underlined today, was that all the excuses I've ever told myself - essentially around not having the 'kit' or the access to make whatever the dream actually happen ...that's all gone. AI is here. And it's standing by, with it's hand on it's hips and tapping it's watch. "Come on, Dave, let's crack on". I feel exposed! I've got no more excuses to hide behind! But, that's also so exciting and liberating. And this 'immersion' across 3 days keeps me there, ...keeps me anchored, focused ...and holds my feet to the flames. Accountability, right? Haha, when I dropped on to write something here, the above wasn't what I had planned!! I guess I felt this forum was a safe place to open up a little - feels good! But what I ACTUALLY was going to say, was how much I'm enjoying the delivery skills of the presenters. Each speaker has got their unique style, but are all engaging in their own way and I'm learning loads. For example: I regularly use the 'drinking from a firehose' analogy whenever I'm covering a lot of content in a limited time (or I just get too carried away and 'flow'!), but today we saw Lior's take on that, where he took the analogy to the next level, and I loved it. "Drink from the side" rather than head on - that's perfect for how it feels staring at all the possible AI tools, and how to position yourself to deal with the rush. Amazing. So, yeah. I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. I think I've already got my dollar's worth! 🤣 Here's to day three! If you're reading this, then thank you for getting through it all, and I hope you're having an equally enlightening time. It's great to be a part of this group.
