Hello and happy Monday!! I wanted to share with anyone that struggles to comprehend video editing what I am doing. I have enrolled at my community college for Video Production. It offers video editing as well as the ins and outs of video production. I also am excited to be in a community of others who may be in the YouTube community. As a side note I do know how to edit and have done several of my videos but it always feels intimidating and I am wanting to feel confident in this area. Also as a senior I am able to audit the class and only pay $15.00 for the semester instead of $900.00. Take care, Darlia

I recently came across @Alexa Saarenoja YouTube channel and thought it would be a great community to connect with. I introduced myself, shared my background, and some of my accomplishments on YouTube, including how the platform has helped me earn a solid income. I also mentioned that I’m in the early stages of exploring coaching, which aligns with some of Alexa's content. Unfortunately, my experience took a negative turn when I was met with criticism from @Mike Bayer. While I understand that one person doesn’t represent the entire community, it's been a disappointing start for me. Wishing everyone the best moving forward.

Hello, I have been a member of this group for a while and I thought I would share my story. I am a recession entrepreneur. I have had a marketing practice for the past 12 years. I have a profitable practice that has had many ups and downs. For the past 2 years I have felt a longing and tugging to move on and try some other things. I want to be an educator. I feel like there are better ways to use my gifts and knowledge that can reach more people. I have been in such a standstill the past 2 years, mainly self-inflicted obstacles. BUT in my defense, I have clients to work for and many days I am just too tired to do "extra". I am 57 with a husband, 3 kids, and 3 grandchildren. I am very active in their lives. I catch myself saying I have worked so hard for so long (14 hour days at times) so I should get to have time off when I want. I ALSO catch myself saying, I am getting older and I am ready to work on something different. So how do you have both and still maintain your current work? I know I am making excuses. The thing is when you have a dream, it's always a dream. It's still there. But when you act it out and it fails, it's over, no more dream. I am getting to a point where I am ready to incorporate some instability into my life. I am no stranger to creating content I have that down. I just need consistency. Today I am working on my YouTube channel and getting it customized. I am going to start. This is a great group to be a part of.

Hello everyone! I’m Rebecca and I live in Washington State. I’m interested in starting a YouTube channel and have a few ideas, mostly around educational content. I would also like to make a channel that is just study music and images/videos that interest the dogs, though I’m sure it would never be monetized, lol. Has anyone made a still frame or music/sleep/ambience channel?

Even though I still am waiting for AdSense and Review to catch up, it feels like so much has been happening so quickly. I have just under 1700 subscribers and it keeps climbing. I have my 4k watch hours just in this month, and now I have an amazing partner agreement with a manufacturer of high quality over the counter hearing aids. They’re offering me a 20% commission and they want to be able to use my videos on their site and promote my channel. Meanwhile I’m getting some consistent Amazon Affiliate sales. Just a couple of months ago I was seriously thinking of giving up after working hard on this channel for a year. Don’t give up, it does pay off!
