Vip Running Jumps Second Progression Collage
Managed to actually make progress and pushed the jumps back now! Each clip goes up in size a little bit, second last clip is 13.5 feet with some vertical gain, last clip is about 14 feet w/ vertical gain. More than my previous. Still having issues swinging arms more and getting vertical height but working on it diligently. Unfortunately phone died part way through recording some of the best jumps I did , and didnt realise until i picked it up off wall it was dead 😢😢😢 so the best jumps i actually got this session were not recorded tragically. But 14 feet + elevation was max. overall got about 50 jumps in total. Improving from last time but still need to work on my arms. Next time im going to lower the distance and focus on form rather than max distance to get those arms swinging and vertical force upwards. Then when I get that technique down and go back to max distance I can go much further and hit my true max. 👍

@Joshua Abrego thank you so much man i really appreciate it! I see youre levelling up very impressively also. I think youre totally right about the arm swings being a priority, I think when I improve that I’ll get lots more vertical height and distance. And yes, though sadly the phone died, I lived it 😎😎🙏🙏🙏

@Alexander Robinson thank you very much! Appreciated 😎😎 I felt good doing the 50 reps actually, it was enjoyable because i did it over a few hours and took breaks. When is the next call? Would love to talk about it more
Session 3 - standing pres at height and running jumps no stick
This session was a huge mental struggle. I was doing alright trying to get over the fear of being higher off the ground, technique really wasn’t there but I thought just doing it would help. I had a bit of a shock moving from 9 of my feet to 10, I still made the jump after it but couldn’t break out of it after. The drops were okay, I didn’t feel great doing them because I was still frustrated from the upwards pres. The same happened with my running jumps. After I moved up from 12 to 13 of my feet I tested the distance which I could make but couldn’t commit to landing on top of the step. Overall, I’m glad I pushed myself out of my comfort zone today but it’s really struck my confidence thinking about what I want to achieve these next few months.

I really like the standing pre to that box that's so good😌🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️
Physical Assessment #1
I think my main issue with running pre’s/ jumps in general is i dont produce enough vertical force and height, so i tried at AAPES to put a box down to prompt my body to naturally move more up and not just forward and i think it worked well to force my mind to actually make more of an arc rather than a flat straight line. (For the first three clips). Still very very bad though, since this is nearly my standing jump (excluding the box ofc lol) however I genuinely believe I can improve it with the right tips and commitment. The third clip actually was an accident unlike the first 2. I thought I was going to bail out and quit the jump mid air but weirdly I noticed mid air that I was actually closer to making it anyway so I then piked last second which is why it looks so weird and the landing is off. The last clip was a different trick of practicing vertical height - instead of forcing myself to jump over something and land on even/ flat terrain, I forced myself to jump *upwards* and land higher instead as another tactic to get better vertical momentum. I think these feel like good drills to gain that I don’t know. What do you guys think? Is my main weakness in my running jumps lack of vertical height or something else? And if it is vertical height, do you think these drills are the right ones to fix it? Let me know :)

@Isla Ramsay Thank you very much I appreciate it! I feel like it's mostly ability for me right now impacting my training of it, like not being physically capable of jumping powerful enough. And likewise, keen to see you improve also.

@Jayden McAllister Thank you ! :)😎
Skill Quest #14
Although I dabbled in lache’s, it’s definitely not my forte lol but hey, it was still a fun challenge. Unfortunately, there was no platform for me to pre on, so I created my own area to land on on the ground. TOUGH PART: feeling pretty scared trying to launch myself far I feel like I was going to slide and slam on my back the further I tried to pre, but now I’m realizing, I could’ve watched some videos to learn better lache techniques lol EXCITING PART: Landing the Level 2 It was surprising that I can reach that far on the lache to pre (I wish I measured it). I’m curious to see how far I can lache to pre. Tip: Tbh, I don’t have tips today. This is new territory for me. I’m not ready for Level 3 just yet (it’s scary AF). I need to practice this more to feel more confident in what I’m doing.
