Christmas + sales
My wife bought me La Male edt for Christmas and I found the Tom Ford Nior Extreme and Dior Sauvage Elixir on sale over the holidays. I’ll be smelling good for a while

Am I missing something?
On one of Anthony’s latest videos about fragrance (last day or two) he was promoting this brother of Scent community and mentioned one of the perks is that he has all the infographics and charts about all the fragrance houses and flankers and what not AVAILABLE FOR FREE I made sure TJ rewind and re-watch because I’ve been a free member here for about a month or so now and remembered those things being unavailable unless you pay. Am I missing something or was that something that USED to be free and maybe he recorded that one a while ago and didn’t cut that out? The video: https://youtu.be/xKVljiUVgf8?si=2OL9_19kz0n5ivF6

They were free but since the new paid model is in place they have been locked. Several of the skool items are now only for paying members. I was looking for those info graphics before thanksgiving but it was locked.
Looking for Suggestions
While I was out today, I took the time to sample fragrances. I found YSL Myslf, Armani Stronger with You, and Dior Savage Parfum too floral/sweet. Definitely picked up on the mandarin in Sauvage Parfum. I enjoyed Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather and Sauvage Elixir. Until I develop a better vocabulary, what fragrances would you suggest I try based on these preferences?

Based on what you said you liked and didn’t care for I’m going to suggest one that doesn’t get much talk these days but is great imho. Burberry EDT. https://www.amazon.com/Burberry-Mens-Classic-Toilette-Spray/dp/B008WBK4UU
To return or not to return. THAT is the question.
This month I've been on a bit of a losing streak when it comes to blind buys. From Jomashop I bought Equus to round out my Lalique collection. It was a real disappointment and IMO not up to Lalique standards at all. It certainly couldn't compare with the Lion (pour homme). Then last week I bought Boudicea Complex on a Jomashop "Open box" flash sale for a crazy low price. I was aware of its reputation for being overly beasty and challenging, and it did not disappoint. Personally, I usually like beasty, challenging frags as much as the next guy, but trust me, this stuff was like Michael Jordan level challenging. It's on a whole different planet as far as I'm concerned and I know I will NEVER wear it. Jomashop (and many other online sites) are very good about returns and allow you to return if you're unhappy with your purchase for any reason. In fact, Jomashop actually has a radio button option on their returns screen that says "I didn't like", and they're good with that, as are others. The question is this: If you have the option, do you return bottles back to the vendor simply because you don't like the fragrance?

I bought a bottle of something that, at the store I liked. After I got it home and wore it a couple of times I realized I didn’t like it as much. Now, I wear it sometimes in the evening when I’m not going out. I do this to see if it’s really not too bad and if I can get used to it. I’m starting to appreciate it after a couple of months.

@Steve Louis sure. Mine is Tom Ford Hombre Leather. As I said, I liked it at the store. Tried it at home and didn’t like it. Now, I sort of like it.
Western Wear Fragrance?
Curious, is there such a thing as a "Western Wear" fragrance? I would seem to think there are, even if it’s not an official category. 🤠 My initial thoughts are that “Western Wear” fragrance is more of a vibe than a label: rugged, warm, confident, and rooted in natural materials. Think leather saddles, sun-warmed woods, dusty trails, tobacco, suede, smoke, and a touch of sweetness—the olfactory equivalent of boots, denim, turquoise, and a well-worn belt buckle. These scents usually lean into: - Leather & suede (the backbone of the Western feel) - Woods like cedar, sandalwood, or vetiver - Tobacco, amber, or vanilla for warmth and approachability - Spices or resins that add grit without going “cowboy cosplay” A few fragrances that wear Western even if they don’t say so on the bottle. Some of the fragrances that I have, and I believe would fall into this category: - Memo – Italian Leather; refined saddle leather with swagger - Tom Ford – Ombre Leather: modern cowboy energy in a tailored jacket - Parfums de Marly – Herod: tobacco-vanilla confidence with frontier charm Bottom line: if it smells like it belongs with a bolo tie, turquoise, boots, and quiet confidence, it qualifies as Western Wear in my book. What are your thoughts, recommendations?

When I wear my western boots, trucker jacket and High Roller hat, I often will grab a spritz or two of Red Colorado.
