Just Finished a 1 week Youtube and Social Media Detox and Good Results...
On my 6 week no coffee, I thought i would cut out youtube and all social media for one week, mainly to stop the news feed scrolling and consuming content, and create more. Youtube content i have watched everyday for some years now. I actually found it easier than i thought, and more in the present moment over the week, happier and also being aware of my own thoughts and creativity, I wrote quite a few blog posts also and found great joy in doing that! Going back to youtube yesterday i felt not that interested to watch much, just Justins latest video and another one, I found the newsfeed and scanning videos quite draining so put my phone down and just focused on being present, feel I can go a bit longer, thought i'd share, as Youtube was my biggest problem and was easier than i thought

Ah no, i did one week without Youtube. Its 6 weeks no caffeine! I think I could have gone longer no youtube tbh. In a way i am looking forward to going without again because i did a lot more interesting things. I guess depends on purpose i was aiming to cut down on consumption and i think it helped doing a week, so hope that helps. Good job on 8 days no caffeine, i think there is a link between youtube and caffeine as well, being on caffeine i was less likely to drop it

Yes a massive link, for me I realised coming of caffeine reduces the scrolling on news feeds and need for youtube content. Also like drinking coffee and watching youtube videos made me feel productive. What is amazing is I know people who want to quite scrolling, and they don't even want to consider quitting coffee, looking at me like im crazy lol
Almost there…
Hi everyone. While I’m not 100% sober at the moment, I am working on. A few days ago I celebrated 2 years alcohol free. I use no other drugs aside from caffeine. It has been far more difficult giving up caffeine than alcohol. I’m down to one cup of 75% decaf/25% caffeinated coffee in the morning but I eat dark chocolate every day and I have kombucha on occasion. I’ve gone cold turkey a few times and it was insanely intense but it also showed me how physically addicted I had become. This time around I am tapering off. My next step is letting go of chocolate and kombucha.

Ah great work on no alcohol. The caffeine quitting has been ongoing for me, I went 30 days cold turkey, then had decaf a couple of times and went back to caffeine for another 6 weeks, then i stopped 5 and half weeks ago. I think what helped me was having a bigger why and find my life purpose, i've started to see how drinking coffee is making me not live the life i want to live. Also i have come off many times and i just can't go through the headaches anymore I am done! :). I had no idea kombucha had caffeine - i will add that to the list :). Good luck with the next steps!
5 and half weeks no caffeine!
Happy to be part of this community and thanks Justin for great videos and 1-1 Coaching! I am on 5 and half weeks no caffeine. Still going strong and longest I have been with no caffeine in the last 20 years. I can report amazing sleep and present, less anxiety. In the 1-2 month caffeine absence, sometimes struggle a bit with purpose and clarity as things that fulfilled me on caffeine now don't. Also sometimes struggle with wanting a coffee or a matcha, and being surrounded by people in a cafe drinking one. Overall prefer my life and enjoying being drug free as i quit alcohol a couple of years ago, and avoid weed and other psychedelics unless it is a sacred ritual i really feel called to do. Here is to being Sober and enjoying life as it is!
