Since the quilt is finished, it's on to completing this project. A vest for my granddaughter Eden, it comes from a cardigan pattern but I have left off the sleeves and will make the bands a little different too. Should have a bit of embroidery on it too. It's made from a cotton yarn, 8 ply that I got from Spotlight.
A most wonderful day! A special friend came to visit for the weekend so today I took her on a trip further South. Thrift shopping in towns along the way to our lunch destination at a cute "Retro Cafe" but the highlight was an evening of creativity! I've been wanting to try my hand at Lino printing again and it did not disappoint...and of course the perfect choice was this "farmyard friend". Have you tried Lino printing?
@Stephanie Kara These were the ones that my daughter were using for school twenty years ago. A neighbour was using them until a few months ago as she bought her own. They have been used for various crafts. Lino printing of course but also lure making and soap carving.

@Stephanie Kara I know exactly the feeling. Yesterday after work I was going to cut a tree down. It should not have taken long. As I had the chainsaw out I ended up cutting three trees and trimming few others. My fire is probably going to burn during the entire weekend.
I've had a great weekend doing some fun creative stuff after my chaotic week - it's been wonderful. 🌟What have you achieved this weekend? below is one of the things I created - I also started another cottage cloth set!
@Stephanie Kara As we were living on a boat Cooktown has been a few times our cyclone hole. I love the lifestyle here. You do not need to lock your house or car. Kids are playing on the streets, in the bush or where ever yet you do not worry. Many people are barefooted all the time and nobody judge what you wear. Dogs at the Cafe or pub is okay. People not only help each other but also care for each other.
@Stephanie Kara Our humidity never goes under 65% and our temperature never goes under 20⁰C. It is perfect now as it is between 23⁰C and 29⁰C everyday with 75-80% humidity. That is why it is our tourist season. However in six months time we will have days with temperature above 40⁰C and more than 90% humidity.
