Sunny days
Because we finally have a sunny day outside and I am a full season behind on my garden jobs, in true Georgi style I have come out to attend to... my latest interest which is making wooden buttons. This is the stage after removing the bark and trying to cut the things straight. Allowing them to dry before drilling the holes and then varnishing. Because I couldn't find the tools required to make more,(I think my husband hid them so I could prune and deadhead) I didn't prune or deadhead but made a wicking bed for this raspberry cane. Is anyone as distractable as me or have I gained my masters in it?

@Chris Muggleton I guess you’d have beautiful shells up there on that tip - I’ve done the fabric covered in the past- but not shell. So @Georgi Allan where did the wood come from? One of your trees? We have sooooo much wood lying around - I might have to get hubby to cut me some - how did you cut them out?

I’ll probs have to do some wicking beds when we go away - it’s a long time over summer to ask kids to water
Learn to Lino Print
The second little video explains and demonstrates Lino printing so well. we found the softest Lino to work with > not like the old linoleum tiles we worked on years ago! YOU WILL NEEED Soft Lino A small set of Lino tools (at least one large and one small for finer cutting) A small brayer (this is to roll the paint and it needs to be rubber) Block Print Ink (different to Acrylic and Oil paint) A "Chinagraph Pencil" You can buy a complete starter set from your local Art store/Spotlight and even Temu. Keen to create some more prints soon!

@Georgi Allan that's funny! Maybe you could do some printing with the grand kids - tho they can be a bit dangerous in the worng hands > you could make them and maybe they roll the paint and do the printing!

A crazy beautiful life
I'm home again at the cottage at last and it's already full of little people - and family! But here's a little look at life in the fast lane! LIGHTHOUSES - LOVELY FRIENDS - LIVING WONDERS AND LINO LESSONS and tonight, LOVED ONES. Does anyone else long for slow days when they can sit by a fire, and read a book! Bucket list - It's the little things! 🤣

@Julie Burns looking forward to writing som snail mail next week! Everything has slowed down now and we've spent the day in the garden burning of and mowing acres of lawn! My hands look terrible now! They've aged another 5 years I'm sure 🤣

@Leatta Leake oh the heat is a lot (especially if one is menopausal) > BC is that Brittish Columbia? We get those hot days here, sometimes weeks on end but at the moment is freezing > sunny but oh so cold!
A ROAD TRIP & A LINO PRINT!
A most wonderful day! A special friend came to visit for the weekend so today I took her on a trip further South. Thrift shopping in towns along the way to our lunch destination at a cute "Retro Cafe" but the highlight was an evening of creativity! I've been wanting to try my hand at Lino printing again and it did not disappoint...and of course the perfect choice was this "farmyard friend". Have you tried Lino printing?

@Leatta Leake so what it Lino Printing... I experienced this in Art class at school many years ago and then also did some with my dad when he had a Sign Writng business - mostly screen printing but occasionally lino prints too. I found this - will post this for the whole community but this will explain - so much fun to be had!
