New Gemini Pro 2.5 update - who has tried it?
Looks like one of the leading contenders for best model for Cursor, Gemini 2.5 Pro, has an update this morning Pacific Time. Anyone tried it? Got any thoughts on how it performs?
What's Your Best Cursor AI Tip or Trick? (Community-Driven Video!)
Hey everyone! During last night's community call, we started sharing some awesome Cursor AI tips and tricks, and realized we should capture all this great insight in one place! I decided to create this post to gather all of your best Cursor AI tips, tricks, and workflow hacks. Afterward, I'll compile your contributions into our first-ever community-driven video for the YouTube channel. To get the ball rolling, here are 5 tips I've found incredibly useful: Tip 1: AI Model - Gemini 2.5 pro is the best model I've ever used. It does exactly what you ask most of the time. It doesn't wander off and do random things too often. It can also solve complex problems. Its context window is huge, so you can pass in a bunch of reference files for context. Tip 2: Cursor Rules - If you notice the model keeps making mistakes, update your cursor rules to instruct the model on what it should do. Tip 3: Open multiple chat tabs - When I'm working on a project, I like to go speed mode. While Gemini 2.5 pro is solving one problem, I open an extra tab to tackle a different problem. Usually, I have 2 to 3 tabs running AI simultaneously. It's like managing a team of engineers, constantly reporting back their work for approval or feedback. Tip 4: @docs - When consistently working with a new library or copying code examples from a specific page, I add that web page as an external doc. Just type @web followed by the link, and then you can ask questions about the docs. Tip 5: Create an ai_docs folder - I store my holistic project plan here. This plan outlines my high-level goals, tasks, and the reasons behind them. It’s a living document that I continuously update. When I open a new chat in Cursor, I easily reference this document. For large tasks, I create specific task documents containing detailed goals and subtasks. I create these documents with AI and then we tackle the subtasks together. Now, it's your turn. What are your favorite Cursor AI tip or trick? Drop in the comments below!

As we know, long chats can throw Cursor off, cause it to make duplicate components/classes etc etc But it’s a pain to reintroduce the new chat to your work. To speed up the process, ask the agent to save its progress in a markdown file “that it could use to resume from a new chat”, then, start a new chat & import that file with an @ import. It'll even name the file for you - how cool is that!

Two more! 1. Working in parallel with full isolation: create a "git worktree", this is a second copy of your code in another directory that can be on a different branch etc. Next press Cmd-Shift-N in Cursor to open a new window, and use "Open Folder" to open your new worktree. Now each Cursor window can be used to work on completely separate features with no clobbering (at least until you merge PRs!) More here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1LV8ePnqLQ 2. Don't confine yourself to just using Cursor! For example, Google Jules should be able to pull down PRs, work on them, and commit back. So you could leave code-review comments in the PR then ask Jules to solve them while moving on to your next task in Cursor.
Told o3 “Impress me”.
I’ve been playing with lots of legal-work automation concepts lately, and o3 is super capable, and ChatGPT now has memory, but it was still a nice surprise to see this happen when I asked it to impress. Curious what you get! “Impress me”

Battle of the AI Models: Which One is Best for Agents?
I’m deep in testing O3-Mini, GPT-4o, DeepSeek-R1, and DeepSeek-V3 to figure out which model is truly the best for AI agents. To find the winner, I’m stress-testing them against the most common tasks agents need to handle: 🧠 Instruction Overload: Can it handle rule-heavy tasks without getting confused or hallucinating? 🛠️ Tool Call Hell: Can it handle 5 consecutive tool calls, feeding results from one into the next without breaking? 🔍 Needle in a Haystack: Can it retrieve precise information from large datasets while staying contextually aware? So far, one model is dominating—and I’ll be switching all of my agents over to it going forward. 💡 I’ll share the full results (and the winning model) in my upcoming video—recording tomorrow, dropping Thursday! Stay tuned. Which model do you think will win? Drop your guesses below! 👇

Love both of these Brandon! Personally I feel option 2 would be easier to action, but excited to see which one you go for!
