Fast Fix Friday: How to Turn Real Words Into Real Customers
If your content feels flat, forced, or overly polished… It’s usually because you’re creating in isolation. The best content does not start in Canva. It starts in conversation. - Inside your DMs. - On client calls. - In comment threads. - During workshops - Skool communities Your job is not to invent better ideas. Your job is to listen better. Step 1: Collect Language, Not Ideas Look for: Repeated frustrations “I don’t know if this makes sense…” Fears Downplayed wins Copy their exact words. That’s your raw material. Step 2: Turn Their Words Into Hooks Don’t teach. Reflect. Take their sentence. Turn it into your first line. Step 3: Use 4 Conversation Buckets Sort what you hear into: - What they’re striving for - What they care about - Small wins they’re proud of - Who they’re becoming One sentence from them = one post from you. Lead with growth, not struggle. Step 4: Bridge to the Next Step After you name it, guide it. Add: “This is where we start.” “This is what we work on.” “This is why this matters.” Seen first. Solution second. Weekly Practice: Conversation Capture Every Friday: Pull 3 real phrases. Turn each into a hook. Add one insight. Add a soft bridge. Three posts. Already validated. That’s how followers become customers, without sounding promotional.

Instagram finally let us edit our comments and I have thoughts. First of all... you think they would have done this before putting it on Threads? Classic. But here's what you need to know about how it works: - After you post a comment, you have a 15 minute window to tap Edit and change what it says. - You can edit as many times as you need within that window. - After 15 minutes? It's locked in forever, so choose your words wisely. Is this the update we needed most? Probably not. But I'll take it. What's the one thing you'd fix about Instagram if you ran it for a day?

@Liisa Reimann read just about anything I've written on Skool and you'll see words like the/thr plus the word and/adn written wrong. It’s so annoying 😑

@Janet Wilson Welcome to actually using Instagram! It really is a different energy to Facebook once you get into it. What kind of content are you thinking of starting with? (And I 100000% agree with the Meta comment, at least they have a different CEO who seems to somewhat "get it!")

@Kathleen Flanagan that's literally how you get there. You're already doing the thing most people skip: testing, watching, adjusting. The fact that you know a stronger thumbnail after a day can move the needle means you're paying attention in the right way. Nailing it out of the gate is just what happens after enough reps of exactly what you're doing now. Do you have a different hook title from what is on your thumbnail? Pat Flynn talks about that in his YouTube trainings, if you want I can find the video and send it over.

@Kathleen Flanagan it completely get that. It took me a bit to realize how the two work together and that I needed to come up with more headlines than I first thought.
I used to offer this and I stopped. I'm thinking about bringing it back.
I'm thinking out loud here and I want your honest take. I used to offer Instagram audits -- a top to bottom review of your profile, content, hooks, calls to action, and repurposing opportunities, followed by a live session to walk through everything together and make changes in real time. I've been thinking about bringing something like that back, but expanding it beyond just Instagram to look at your full content ecosystem. Every platform you're active on, your offers, your messaging, whether everything is actually pointing in the same direction -- or working against itself. Before I build anything out I want to know if this is even something you'd find useful. Be honest with me -- is a content ecosystem audit something you'd invest in? And if yes, what would you most want it to look at?

@Janet Wilson thank you for sharing all of this, and honestly, nothing you've described sounds idealistic to me, it sounds like someone who has finally gotten clear on what she actually wants. That clarity is everything. What you're describing though, creating fresh content for every platform from scratch, is exactly the kind of thing an ecosystem audit would help untangle. You don't need to be everywhere doing everything. You need a system where one piece of content does most of the heavy lifting across all of them, so you're not recreating the wheel six times a week. The rebrand is also really interesting timing. Moving from Equine Experiences to a personal brand aimed at high achieving individuals is a significant shift and getting your ecosystem aligned around that new direction from the start would save you a lot of rework down the road. Can I ask: when you imagine your ideal week of content creation, how many hours would feel sustainable to you? And which platform genuinely excites you the most right now?

I plan my content. And then life happens. A client hits a wall. A community member (you've seen it here) shares something that shifts the whole conversation. Something breaks or something lands better than expected -- and suddenly the content I had lined up doesn't fit anymore. So I've learned to plan the direction, not the details. I map out what I want to say and when. But the captions get written that week. The assets come together that week. Because that's when I actually know what's true right now -- for me, for my clients, for the people I'm talking to. It's not disorganized. It's responsive. And honestly? My best content has always come from staying close to what's actually happening instead of publishing what I planned three weeks ago. When life shifts, do you pivot the content or push through with what you planned?
