Do long legs equal long strides?
How many struggle with over striding? Being six feet two inches tall a misconception I had was long legs meant long βstretch um outβ strides. Height can allow a longer stride, but trying to force stride length by reaching often increases braking forces and can overload the hamstrings, calves, feet, and ankles. Boy did I ever learn the hard way. I took November till February off to recover from hamstring issues. Iβve started focusing on propulsion with foot strikes under center mass. Shorter strides and quicker turnover is not natural for me, but I am working on it. I struggle once fatigue sets in to my old ways of reaching. I know it ironic to want quick or instant results without put effort in to making the change. You might think I picked the wrong hobby π. I know it will take time and persistence, so here is my plan βSLEDβ or Suck Less Each Day. What tips, drills or advice do yaβll have to help make this transition?
