12 contributions to Learn Microsoft Fabric
5k members, 1200 threads and now a 2nd team member
Hi everyone, things have gone fast since I launched this community back in January 2024!! I still remember my proud post when we reached 50 members (see below). Well, recently we crossed a previously unimaginable milestone of 5k members. Thank you to every one of you that chooses to spend your time here learning Fabric and engaging with the community. So far, we have had over 1200 conversations/ threads about Microsoft Fabric (the search bar contains a wealth of information!). I hope it has helped you learn Microsoft Fabric. The best thing is that this is just the start, I will continue to invest in this community because I can see it's making (at least a small) difference. But a community of this size is difficult to manage alone (especially as now I spend a lot of time in Fabric Dojo too). As such, I'm delighted to announce that I've brought on board Maleek - @Mubaraq Abdulmaleek to support yourselves (and me!) around the community. Maleek is hugely passionate about Fabric (he was one of the first members of this community back in January!), DP-600 certified and eager to learn as much as possible. He'll help new members get onboarded, help members find stuff (course content/ previous answers to community questions), and generally help make sure you have a great experience here. Great to have you here, Maleek! Soon, I'll share what I have planned for this community in 2025 and beyond. Thank you so much for being a part of this community we're building!

Real-time notifications when data in Azure SQL changes
In this article, Alex Yin showcases how to generate real-time notifications when your data in Azure SQL changes (in this example, when an order is placed). It leverages: - the Change Data Capture feature of an Azure SQL DB (although it also works with other DBs too), - Eventstreams to process the CDC stream - Real-time Alerts to get a notification Can you think of any other ways to use this same pattern?

I'd love to use it with Cosmos DB (Mongo API) but unfortunately it's not possible. We analyzing how the best approach with Mongo since there is no API available yet. It seems we will have to build a solution based on EventsHub.
Mirroring Cosmos DB Mongo DB API
I've been using data mirroring in Microsoft Fabric for data ingestion with SQL-DB for a while, and I found it extremely useful. When I tried to use it with Cosmos DB MongoDB API, I realized it is only available for the Non-SQL API. Additionally, I noticed that the reference to Data Mirroring (GA) has disappeared from the Fabric roadmap for some reason. It would be highly valuable to make this feature available for both MongoDB APIs (RU and VCore). I've posted this idea in both the Fabric and Azure Communities. If you find it useful, please feel free to vote for it in both communities. Thanks.πŸ˜„ https://ideas.fabric.microsoft.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=3e2f0a02-ea3a-ef11-a295-000d3a0f7b2e https://feedback.azure.com/d365community/idea/19f91e85-e93a-ef11-a296-000d3ae4120b
Issue with Git integration in a repository hosted on a different tenant than the one hosting the Fabric capacity.
I encountered an issue with Git integration in a repository located in an Azure DevOps organization under a different tenant. In Fabric, I haven't found a way to view the organization in the other tenant, even though I can switch between tenants and change organizations without any problems in Azure DevOps. Does anyone have any suggestions or know if this feature is on Microsoft's roadmap?

Thank you, Will. Unfortunately, our DevOps is quite developed and the requirement is to work everyone on the same organization, so there is no room to re-create it. However, I've just realized there might be some plans in the future to add this feature as per Microsoft's wording ("Currently, only Git in Azure Repos with the same tenant as the Fabric tenant is supported.") on here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/cicd/git-integration/intro-to-git-integration#considerations-and-limitations The point is when Microsoft will include this on the roadmap.

Will, thank you very much for your time and effort!! Your material and community were greatly helpful and encouraging. I passed the exam this morning with 857 score. It wasn't an easy exam.πŸ˜…
