Build 2 Rent Success!
I’ve had to travel home the past 4 weeks. I haven’t had a chance to catch up with Curtis but I can tell you he is very busy. He is building in my home town and he is on fire all over the place. Not only does he have several completed projects but they are leased/sold, whichever strategy he chose to use. 🔥💯It was inspiring to see so many projects being done. Congratulations to Curtis and his crew!

@Curtis Eickenloff thanks for sharing reality. I’m sure it will all work out for good in time. Shared housing could be an option for Residents/Medical staff at Scott & White and the VA. Not sure if there’s still a need but there was a shortage in housing for Veterans.

Check Out This Monster!
Not kidding... this is a monster of a house... Did a quick 4 min video about it for you! It get's the job done. What do you think I should do with it?

I voted for the transformation. Of course it depends on how much you paid for it, cost of repairs and ARV…
Site plan issue but solved
I recently got my site plan to start building. It looked good to me so I gave it out to my contractors. My concrete guy recommended I have a surveyor mark out my corners of the lot and the corners of the house. But when I gave them the site plan he noticed an issue in the measurements from the architect. The overall distance looks like 61.26’ but it’s not. It’s only 55.86’. So we lost just over 5’ . Which put us at 6’ and 5.5 ft on each side of the house. Instead of 9 and 10 ft. We were close. Because city requires 5 ft on each side. I could have had to redo my whole house plans! I don’t think I could have caught this because I didn’t know where the lot pins were. Take a look at the pictures and see if you can tell where the architect messed up.

Congratulations on getting the site plans and thank you for sharing. This was a great learning experience.
🔨🏗️ Happy President’s Day, B2R Peeps!
Tell me why I woke up this morning in full corporate mode… checking emails, planning meetings… …only to realize I’m OFF today. 😂 The W2 brain is strong. While I’m still W2 for NOW and building in parallel, I’ve been deep in plan reviews. Shoutout to @Juan Cristales for helping me read my plans in a way that doesn’t send my stress levels through the roof. Instead of:“OMG this needs to be perfect and Pinterest-worthy and luxury and…” It’s now: 👉 What’s need-to-have vs nice-to-have 👉 What supports the appraisal? 👉 What supports the end game? 👉 What actually moves me toward 4–5 sets of duplexes… and eventually my event space vision? That mindset shift alone reduced my stress 50%. Still in pre-build mode. Still networking. Still sourcing lots. Still operating my duplex. Still working full-time. End goal hasn’t changed: 🏘️ 4–5 duplex sets 💸 Scalable build-to-rent mid-term portfolio Quick question for the group: For those not building full-time yet — how do you stay locked in while juggling your W2? @Candice Jackson @Tunde Smart @Kwame K.Dadzie @Sharn Robertson @Richard Harrison @Jordan Mead anybody else? Basically: W2 by day, Builder by destiny. Because some days it feels like this caricature.

Good stuff!! The struggle is real but I shall persist. What ultimately keeps me locked in is my desire for real freedom.
