@Kim Petersen hi Kim! I’m glad you were diagnosed a younger age. It gives you the ability to write your own future armed with the knowledge of what you need to be successful. I wish there was a standardized test that was accurate and that was mandatory for all kids of a certain age, like 12, for diagnosing ADHD and Autism. Imagine how much better and easier our lives would be if we had known as a child. You’d not have to go through the years of self-torment thinking there’s something wrong with you, just that your brain is wired differently and that’s not bad, it’s just different. I also wish there was education for adults to teach them how to help these kids. I became a perfectionist as a young child and it’s a hard thing to unlearn, but I’m trying! Have a great weekend! 💕

I quit listening to the gurus! They just stress me out and my squirrel brain doesn’t need any more stress! What’s your channel? I love connecting with other late diagnosed neurodivergent brains! 🧡 I was diagnosed ADHD almost 3 years ago at age 46. I experienced so much anger, the entire grieving process really, because of the “if only I had known, my life would be so different.”

@Lisa Rex crazy how similar we are in that respect. It’s taken me almost 3 years to process my life, all the twists and turns and the coulda, woulda, shoulda beens. I found your channel and subbed because I definitely resonate with your vibe. I think what has make ethos whole thing even harder for me to accept is the fact that I’ve been a psych RN for a LONG time and I didn’t recognize myself as ADHD. I am one of those people who can see and help others but can’t see or help myself. I beat myself up a lot of that and questioned my worth as an RN because of it. I KNOW my stuff though. It’s so hard to explain.
