Frustrated and confused
I got my lab results back from my appointment last week. They did quite a bit of bloodwork. I haven’t seen my specialist yet to talk about my levels but so far everything is “within normal range”. I had my blood taken during my luteal phase. I know that does not mean I’m not experiencing perimenopause (the symptoms alone tell me I am) but to have blood tests come back in “normal ranges” is tough. I really wanted it to validate my symptoms… I have to keep reminding myself that the blood work isn’t everything and that despite being in range a lot of them were on the low end. I’ve been taking my oral progesterone for about 4 nights now but I haven’t seen much improvement. I know it takes time to see big results and if I need to have estrogen and/or testosterone that might balance things out too but I was hoping to a least sleep a bit better. Anyways, I got my period early (surprise!) and have been having a really rough couple of days. Lastly, does anyone have any insight into a CBC-RLM blood test? I have low neutrophils Absolute at 2.03 and high Basophils Absolute at 0.04. My white blood cells were within range but on the low end at 4.12. I did a bit of googling and the most likely explanation is that I’m fighting off a bug or am experiencing allergies due to a histamine issue. So I guess my question is, since histamines can be a problem In Perimenopause, could that be causing these levels to be off? Sorry for the long post! I hope everyone is having a good day! Thanks! 😊

How many tubes of blood do they take?

@Katie Soderling Thank you. I just don’t like getting a lot of vials taken at once. I had 9 tubes taken once before and I’m like I won’t do that again. 4 is ok but I prefer not to do more then that.
Struggling w/HRT
Started HRT (E patch oral P) in Aug 2025. Im in late peri/early menopause. I have increased E twice and decreased E once, P has stayed the same. The first 2 weeks I feel better and around the 2 week mark (with both increase and decrease) symptoms get intense that are hard to deal with (bad anxiety, panic attacks, increased heart rate). I have others also low/heavy mood, crying a lot, no energy/motivation, bleeding.. I don’t know what to do. Am I having a hard time adjusting, have I not stayed on a dose long enough, is my own hormones fluctuating too much, is HRT not working for me? I just want to feel better. My son is getting married in 3 months and I have missed out on so much already. 😢

My story
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my peri menopause story. It started back in February of this year. If you don't think menopause psychosis isn't real, it is. It hit me hard, I spent 3 nights in the mental hospital on 3 different occasions, total black out. Drs would not do blood work, said I was schizophrenic. I had never had any mental health problems up until the age of 48 when peri hit me. It took 4 Drs and many months of anxiety, tremors and heart ache before finding a Dr that would do blood work and listen to me. I am now on progesterone and estrogen, and am healed. Ladies, fight for yourself. If anyone out there has any questions or needs to vent, feel free to reach out, we all needs friends right now that are going through what we are. Much love to you all.

Glad you’re doing better. Can I ask what are you on and doses for HRT? How long did it take to start to feel better?

Started HRT in Aug 2025. I’m in late perimenopause/early menopause. This journey has been really hard and am not sure what the right thing to do is.
