🎥 Calm Collective Replay: Structure Creates Calm
If you missed today’s session, this one matters. We broke down how to build real calm through structure, not hope. Crate at night. Place bed during the day. Clear routines that lower arousal and build impulse control. We covered: • Why some dogs never truly switch off • How overnight crate sleep resets the nervous system • How daytime place work teaches calm around real life • The difference between tiring a dog out and teaching them to regulate • What to do when protest barking, restlessness, or pushback shows up This wasn’t about quick fixes. It was about building an environment where calm becomes predictable. If your dog paces, barks, struggles to settle, or feels constantly “on,” this replay will give you a simple, structured plan to start immediately. Watch the replay, apply the 7 day plan, and then drop your questions below. Calm is built through repetition. Let’s tighten it up this week. 🐾

Watched the replay this afternoon excited to give this a go. We already do a lot of the things discussed Gwen is crate trained and follows a regular routine walk in the morning crate while we are at work/not home and overnight but I think we can definitely improve on our place training during the day/ busy periods to help settle her excitement. Keen to see what we can achieve.

Also just wanted to say what a huge impact this little community has had on our journey. Just making small changes to our routine that we have learnt over the past few weeks has made a huge difference. Even my first time dog owner husband commented earlier in the week about how much calmer Gwen has been. You guys have been a huge support we are really grateful to you all.
Walking practice
Hi guys, We are new here so still catching up on things. This is us practicing our loose leash walking which I think we are doing pretty good at (might need to work on my treat tossing skills 🤣) but my question is we do great when it is just me and Gwen on a walk but I don’t often get that luxury I usually have at least one if not two kids in tow which of course adds chaos and excitement and more often than not all calmness goes out the window and Gwen just wants to run and catch up to the kids. Can we work on us all being able to walk calmly together or does it just mean we don’t make it past the driveway for a little while. Any tips are greatly welcomed.

We are all still learning the ropes together. Gwen is my first puppy as an adult with my own children also my first poodle. I have grown up most my life with whippets so it is definitely a big change for me. I have been saying all along the hardest part of training the dog so far has been training the children what not to do with or to the dog 🤣 the dog has been comparatively easy compared to the kids.
