I landed in Medellin 3 days ago, tons of outdoor walking and things to do. The language exchanges are a great spot to meet expats. The people I’ve met there just pour free knowledge about work, travel, safety, and other cool hacks. Tomorrow I’ll continue on to Perrera, Cali, Armania, than back to Medellin for most of December. Everything is super cheep outside the tourist areas. and it’s fairly simple to see what areas are safe good people and what areas to stay away from. On my next leg back to Medellin I’ll be staying in Laureles instead of poblato. It’s 20% cheeper in air bb, less tourist and a 5 dollar cab ride back to Poblato where most the tours leave. The culture here enjoys bargains, so even air bb they are willing to make a deal if you ask. I would not buy anything here unless you negotiate all prices first. Let’s see if I have enough energy to finish up my final project next week in my Data analytics course. Haha Feel free to reach out if anyone is in the area or has tips.

Yea…. It was a bit pricy but I wanted the extra instruction. It’s definitely not worth it it you already have a bit of a background. I payed like 6 months ago but if I recall correctly they advertised for like 12k but give discount to 8k. Like 50% of students fail so I needed the tutoring on the side. Cost me like 20 per hour online from any tutoring company. But I was really new in tech

@Alan Contreras yea I can get through it now… I’m not great but with a ton of tutoring, like 2 days per week I can do some baisic python sql excel. I think probably a more cost effective route would be Google data analytics cert and some tutoring. The online tutoring is really what’s helping me the most.

Hello everyone. My name is Davin. I work as as dispatcher for a medical courier company in California. I can sometimes work from home when it is okay to do so with permission from my manager. I just need to gather more resources to explain how being a digital nomad works taxwise to present to the owner of the company then maybe I can start the dream of working remotely while traveling. Best of luck to everyone here and nice meeting you all! Let's get this! 🔥

Hey everyone, my name is Kenny — born and raised in New York currently working full time in IT for non-profit in NY. I plan to take a career break at the start of next year to foster new skills. I’m interested in e-sports, learning languages, and investing with coast FIRE mindset. I discovered the Remote Freedom Community through Austin’s socials while researching opportunities for remote work and ways to stretch the value of the dollar to help accelerate my FIRE goals. Living in one of the most expensive places in the U.S., and seeing the current political and economic climate, it’s been difficult to picture a long-term future in the states — let alone retirement. What excites me most about working remotely is the flexibility; having the freedom to work from anywhere and reclaiming the hours lost to commuting. I currently spend about an hour each way traveling to and from work on public transit. As for travel, I’ve visited Canada and The Bahamas with family; however, my first real international travel experience was to Japan, a country I’ve returned to a few times over the past couple of years. Visiting Asia for the first time opened my eyes to how different quality of life can be across the world. It inspired me to potentially plan more trips around Asia and beyond to continue expanding my perspectives and horizons. I am excited to surround myself with people who may share similar ambitions while building and learning from those with different or broader experiences. 🙏

Welcome. I’m from NY as well

Hi, I’m Vanessa! Originally from the Philippines and currently based in Dallas, TX. I’m a Tech remote worker in the US for 5 years now, an NBA fan, and a big fan of crime thriller films. I discovered the Remote Freedom community on IG after coming across one of Austin’s reels, and I’ve been following him ever since. What excites me most about remote work is the flexibility it brings. My goal is to embrace geo-arbitrage by working from Southeast Asia so I can be closer to my family, especially my aging parents. Apart from the US and the Philippines, I’ve been fortunate to visit the UK and Canada, and I love discovering new places and cultures!

@Vanessa Castro Hi Vanessa! Great to have you here. It will be good to hear from a pro like yourself. I’m sorry your company is so strict. It will be interesting to hear everyone’s “work arounds” and advice for this.

Hola todos/everyone! My name is Daniel. Born in TX, did IT for over 7 years in the Navy and now currently living back in my hometown Brownsville, TX after being honorable discharged out. Not currently employed atm but believe a remote job would be the best fit for me for sure. Customer service help desk type work is my bread and butter. Brought 4 bravo zulus to my IT division back when I was on the USS JOHN C. STENNIS. For those that know don't know what that means, a bravo zulu is basically a 5 star rating review/outstanding performance 🤙🏽 Big into working out & staying active, playing video games with my best friend on the weekends, & recently got really involved into chess(even started watching the Queens Gambit) I came across Remote Freedom though an ig ad reel. Hit follow, watched a few of his stories, sent a few dm's and well, now I'm here. Definitely happy & excited to be here too! What excites me the most about remote work is the flexibility it brings as well, how very little traffic there is going to work, & how you can choose your own office space anytime you work(either working in a quiet room by yourself at minimum and having a window view or outside in the sun on a laptop, that, that is awesome right there!). My goal is to get a real good flexible job that allows me to have Freedom and time to get everything I want to get done and still have room to travel and see the world as well. That would be amazing to achieve! 😌
