Quick shoe fix
Hello Gentlemen, I have a nice pair of Johnston and Murphy dress shoes that have a grip pad on the leather sole. Unfortunately the grip insert seems to be coming off. I could take them to a cobbler but I'm sure there is probably a product where I could do it cheaper. Does anyone know what the best product to use in order to fix these? Thanks for your help.

@Robert Woodhouse thanks. Like I can't imagine it is a difficult fix but I have no clue where to start
Something to Think About
This morning, a colleague shared with the me the following: The problem is not people being uneducated. The problem is that they are just educated enough to believe what they’ve been taught, and not educated to question what they’ve been taught.

I hope I can at this without sounding too political, because it's not my intent but I do think it applies. I think my parents' generation and my generation to a lesser extent grew up in a time where the Cold War presented a direct dichotomy of ideas. These were basic ideas that defined a world view diametrically opposed world views. These big ideas did not leave much room for disagreement. Ever since the end of the Cold War, those completely opposite world views don't really exist. Yet we still try to apply those values to every issue. The idea of looking critically or being able to disagree are no longer seen as valuable. It is seen as lack of fidelity. That and the rise of tribalism has led to people simply trying reinforce their viewpoint instead of realistically questioning as a means of understanding their views. This is why it seems so difficult to have a conversation about anything. That's my view anyway

@William Wehrs next year for Western Civ, I'm doing a historiography on Hero of the Empire. It's about Winston Churchill in the Boer War. It will go great on our European Colonialism unit

@William Wehrs the author , Candace Millard, used to be an editor for National Geographic so the book is very approachable. The story is a great story with getting captured from a train derailment, escaping the POW camp, hiding in a coal mine and being a step away on a coal train to Portuguese Mozambique. It also talks a little about his time in the Soudan. Really hits a lot of points.
