The importance of learning about possessions
I've talked in the past about habits you will need to break as you move up the ranks. Today we'll talk about taking possession rather than booming the ball away. There are times where booming the ball out away for a clear, or booming it into your corner to bounce out for a clear are necessary. But as you climb up through (generally starting late gold to early plat) you will start to encounter opponents that will be waiting for you to boom the ball, so they can take possession and attempt to make a play on your goal. Soft touches, in the air and on the ground, are very important to get consistent with. Driving semi in the direction the ball is traveling and at a similar speed that the ball is traveling will allow you to "catch" the ball either on top of or near one edge of your car. You can then use the skills you have been learning to drive the ball to the wall to attempt an aerial, or get the proper setup for a dribble. Sometimes stopping the ball will throw off your opponents and even leave open goal where you can literally just drive the ball straight in without any of the fancy stuff. Either way, getting consistent and knowing when is a good time to take possession, or when is a good time to boom the ball away, are sure to help you continue your journey up the ranks. Feel free to leave a like on this post or any comments you find helpful. As always, thanks guys, and keep rocking 😎

Warmup routine (low mech Plat to diamond)
I've seen a lot of people around my rank asking about warmup routines and I've shared mine in the comments a few times. So today I decided I would just post it. I'm not super mechanical so if you are, you can add some to multiple parts of my routine to warmup your go to mechs. I'll start by hopping into freeplay flipping around the court and warming up smooth movements and recoveries. I do this for around 10 ish minutes. I then go to one or two striking and defense training packs that were posted by coach curtis. I'll link that below. You don't always have to finish the entire training pack, I'll usually find some particularly difficult shots and spend some time getting consistent with those. Link: https://www.skool.com/gcb-free/training-packs-4?p=ef18590a Then i'll simply play 2 or 3 casual matches, depending on performance. Then it's on to ranked matches. This process has been especially helpful to get me warmed up and I hope it can help some of you as well. Feel free to leave a like on this post or any comments you find helpful. As always, thanks guys, and keep rocking 😎

@Tanner Schlee yeah definitely not a bad idea. I might have to add that in to my routine
Best Way to Re-learn SpeedFlipping?
So I learned how to speedflip when I was around Gold3-Plat1, but I recently realized that I start holding ARL early enough, that I'm not actually diagonal flipping. I'm apparently actually front flipping with ARL, creating a diagonal flip, which I then cancel. And it works effectively, but I can't ever succeed with musty's speedflip test. I get more of a forward nose direction than a side rolling movement that I see a lot pros get. What's the best way to re-learn? The method I've seen Mizu use is back right (micro-adjustment) top-left (flip) back right (cancel) slide to back left (not sure what this is for). I've tried practicing it, but when I force myself to not hold ARL, my jump/flip/cancel timing are all off. Need some advice.

It's likely that you're not getting the angle of the diagonal flip correct. If you're on pc get bakkesmod and get the speed flip plug in. It will tell you exactly what part of the speed flip you are doing correctly or incorrectly. If you aren't in pc then it's just going to have to be practice.
Speedflip question
hello guys I have problem getting the speed flip.1problem is that if often didn't get the angle that i need to flip.2I often don't get the right cancel timing.Do you have any tips how i can work and improve in that? Have great day

Since you aren't on pc it's especially hard to tell what exactly you are doing incorrectly. But know that speed flips are on of the hardest mechs to be able to do very consistently because there is a very small flip angle window, the initial jump needs to be timed well, the initial adjustment needs to be angled properly, then to top it off the flip cancel needs to be lightning fast. As well as the need for a specific amount of air roll to land properly. You can get it, it's just going to take a lot of practice. It is also worth mentioning if you are on an old gen console (ps4, switch, or Xbox one) there might be too much input lag for you to even be able to do a proper speed flip. You can look up musty's speed flip training pack where there is just enough time to get to the ball if you do a real speed flip. This is the best way to test if you are making that under 2 seconds to the ball.
Ball
Is it just me or is it s hard to control you car to hit the ball when the camera is facing upward (when the ball is above your head) Generally its hard to actually make contact with the ball in general. I can hit the ball just not constantly

You will find that there are times to utilize ball cam and times to use car cam. When the ball is directly overhead or at a weird angle just above you it's usually better to use car cam so you can lessen the confusion on your car control
