So I learned how to speedflip when I was around Gold3-Plat1, but I recently realized that I start holding ARL early enough, that I'm not actually diagonal flipping. I'm apparently actually front flipping with ARL, creating a diagonal flip, which I then cancel. And it works effectively, but I can't ever succeed with musty's speedflip test. I get more of a forward nose direction than a side rolling movement that I see a lot pros get.
What's the best way to re-learn? The method I've seen Mizu use is back right (micro-adjustment) top-left (flip) back right (cancel) slide to back left (not sure what this is for). I've tried practicing it, but when I force myself to not hold ARL, my jump/flip/cancel timing are all off.
Need some advice.
