🙌 Help and Be Helped: 🙌 Show Us How to 🥊 Overcome 🥊 Like You! (🎇 New Year, New Format! 🎇)
I admit that even as the admin, I didn't get this group off to a great start at first. I posted some work of mine but got discouraged when nothing seemed to be helping other members or gathering any helpful feedback for me. So I've got a new idea: Every time you overcome a hurdle in the creative process, post about it to teach others. Post your work in progress, too. Not everything that everyone's working on will be everyone else's cup of tea even if they're creating in the same field, but we can all learn from each other, and so can creators in the general public. So to sum it up: - Post in this group to show your work in progress *and* the hurdles you overcome. - I recommend getting a Patreon and posting the same there. - For work in progress that you want to share with Patreon in video format, you can upload it to YouTube as unlisted and then include the link in a Patreon post. - Patreon is also a great place to offer sheet music and lead sheets if you're a musician, scripts if you're a playwright, and supplemental materials like Bible studies to go with any kind of Christian creative work. If you're a musician who wants to try this, but you don't read/write music, you can message me about lessons and/or my services as a transcriber. - Post on public platforms to show the hurdles you overcome, the finished products (or large portions of them if they're of epic length), and just small glimpses from time to time of work in progress. Short form video is often great for this, as it currently gets pushed out in the algorithms. Linking your viewers to your Patreon and encouraging them to try a week for free can also help. (Just remember to set up a free week's trial in Patreon.) For content you plan to post publicly, I also recommend posting it twice, once unlisted and linked from Patreon, and once publicly.
