Hey guys, just wanted to clear up a few things in my head. 1. Is there any event replay which shows a VU meter being used in Logic? Preferably quite recently as I know how information can change. Which leads me to… 2. Wasn’t there a time we were told to measure in RMS? If I’m not just tripping, then what happened there? 3. What is the best free VU meter for Logic users? Or are they all the same? I’ve just dowloaded the free mvMeter but not tried it out yet. I think this one was supposed to be up there. Namaste 🙏🏽.

@George Legion Otigbah I mean both methods work. Kevin knows what he is doing obviously. But if Sarah's method is making more sense to you, give that a go. There is no right or wrong. But I agree, stick with what you are comfortable with for now as you are learning and getting reps in. And most importantly, trust your ears. If it sounds good then it's good regardless of how you get there. :)

@Adex Felicia Well, so far I haven't noticed struggles with sustaining longer phrases. Generally I feel ok with my breathing, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't work on it. And I think I can control the tension fine as long as I stay somewhat mindful of it. Although I try to not think too much about it while singing live.

@Adex Felicia maybe sometimes, but I haven't noticed too specifically. I kinda let go and hope that how I prepared ahead comes through at that point. But certainly it can be challenging when no longer in the comfort of home. Anyway, what would you pick? What matters most to you?
I have 2 Questions.
At the bottom of the Art of Mixing page it says lifetime access to the TRE community. I've been told it will not be the same access as the TRE community so I'm hoping someone can clarify this for me. Please. Also- I'm wondering if the access can be opened up for the 7 Day Mastering course I took within the classroom. I see it in the classroom but it's locked and it would be nice not to have to jump through extra hoops to get to it when I wanna look back. If it can't, I'll live with it, but it would be nice if it could and then all my stuff would be in one place for access. Thank you in Advance for all that you do to mentor us music nerds I appreciate you.

@Nick Allegro Hey Nick. My 7 day mastering course is also locked but I had access to it on the old website. Would you mind looking at it?

@Nick Allegro thank you! 😁
Getting value from mastering.com
Now first off, I want to say this is not a dig at the team or anything, more about me than the site. I am struggling in getting involved with the site and was wondering if others could tell there success stories and how they got the value out of the site and the team. Just to inspire me.

I came across mastering.com early on in my journey. Most of what I know is thanks to this. There is incredible value in the free courses alone. And then the membership adds a lot with more courses and the mentorship. However, you still have to do the work. Set up times to watch the curriculum. Attend the free events, book your mentorship calls, accept the feedback given and apply what you learn. Embrace the mindset. I know life can be busy, so it can be difficult. But you have to be intentional. Also you can benefit from members of the community that are very knowledgeable, share a mix and you'll get some feedback. So in my case, I basically started knowing nothing. I have now released multiple songs that I recorded, mixed and mastered. I also have a couple of paid clients. There's still a lot to achieve and to learn though. But the progress has been massive for me. What is your goal? What do you feel like is lacking value? I'd be happy to talk more and help if I can.

@Brian Lindsay that's awesome Brian. I think that will benefit you and motivate you a lot.
Recommended Reverbs? I still haven’t found…what I’m looking for…
Is there a reverb I am not aware of that has what I need on it? Patching everything here with two or more and I just need one maybe? So far tried magic 7, reaper stock, reverb from the reverb company . Venn audio too. Any recommendations appreciated. May just not be aware of a workaround. Thanks.

Vintage verb is awesome as others have mentioned. I personally also like the Raum reverb from Native Instruments which should be included in the free komplete start bundle.
