2 contributions to Learn Any Language
How to get fluent fast in any language.
Heads up! This post took me about an hour to write and it is LONG but filled with value So if you have the attention span of a gold fish its probably not for you :) @Wenhao Jia Asked me how to get fast in any language and I personally think this a very unique and interesting question. And I was wondering what fast is for you.. for me its weeks.. or even days But Wenhao said months. Learning languages DOES take months if you are actually consistent and do use techniques and methods that are effective. That's normal And that only happens if you focus on 2 main areas of language learning but I will get to that later 1 thing that I see is that adults don't want to get out of their comfort zone Cognitively And honestly learning languages is neurological stress I read a study as I usually do about neuroscience from the National Center for biotechnology information And 1 tidbit that I personally really resonated with was: "Constructing a new cognitive framework—essentially building a new mental model for understanding, organizing, and retrieving information—is difficult and stressful because it forces the brain to deviate from efficient, well-worn neural pathways and engage in intense, resource-intensive processing. This process involves neuroplastic reorganization, which places a high cognitive load on working memory and triggers stress responses" This pretty much means that learning language IS difficult and a bit stressful i you are actually learning it. If its easy and you aren't feeling challenged then that means you aren't actually growing I like making stuff simple which means they are easy to follow but not easy which means they are easy to do. Now that we understood that. I want to get to consistency and time.. Something a lot of people struggle with. And honestly time is just priorities. Everyone has 24 hours which means that if you don't have time to learn a language then its not high enough on your priority list. SIMPLE! :)
