Leverage QA Calls for Sales - $0 CAC
I have found that we have increased our LTV by checking in on customers just for the sake of checking on our work and to ask a very forward question. “Do you feel you got a great value for the money you spent with us?” The response is almost always overly positive. This sets up the customer for a great next step. -Ask for a referral -Offer them another service at a discount -Improve you cash flow by offering a prepay discount -Setup a free inspection for services they may not have yet Train your CSR’s to do this in their downtime and they will pay for their own position in new sales every month. **Pro tip: You can butter up your customers even more if you offer to mail them a free gift between asking for their honest feedback, and the upsell. We send Tshirts. Customers LOVE it!

This is also a prime opportunity to ask for an online review, particularly on Google!
Building culture leads to less turnover
The more often we go out with our team and spend time together after work, the less negativity spreads within the team when they don’t like something. This also goes for spouses. As often as possible, invite your team’s spouse along to outings. Their spouse is their cheerleader when they’re having a tough time. Give their spouse something to cheer for and help them to like the business as well. If their husband or wife thinks that you are a good owner and likes that they get invited to things and can tell what kind of person you are and is friends with your wife or husband, when things get tough they will give you the benefit of the doubt. I made a post on Facebook about working hard and giving it. You’re all every day and you will be noticed and it was very interesting to see the response. So many people had negative things to say about their employer and how they were never noticed. Taking your team out is a great way for them to feel noticed and rewarded. It doesn’t have to be expensive either. -Breakfast at IHOP -Batting cage -Tickets to a baseball game -Bowling -Rent a movie theater and invite the entire family -Take them to lunch anytime you do a ride along -Bring their favorite drink when you meet them at a job -Watch the fights at Buffalo Wild Wings -Barbecue swim party at your house for families Pro tip: Bring your kid or spouse with you. Let your team get to know your family. It’s good for kids to see their mom/dad work. And it’s great for your spouse to know as many of your team as possible since you probably talk about the team with them at home. Plus it tightens the circle even more. And for this example, I got to write-off taking my kid to a baseball game. Win-win

@Cory Hodnett it's usually just hanging out at somebody's house for holidays. Somebody will cook a ham and a dozen other dishes. You know how those things go.

I'm just here to learn and share. It's nice seeing different perspectives and ways of doing things.
Competition update!
So far I’ve sold 2 rodent station add ons and 1 mosquito customer. That’s $325 up front and $95/month in recurring. Who else has an update? Is this a difficult challenge? What results are you getting? What are you learning from your customers?

Grats - that's about 1% of the way to $100k and you still have 364 more days!!!
Go-Back Advice
If you were able to go back in time and give yourself advice when you first started your business. What would your advice be? Put more than one if you’re having trouble narrowing it down.

@Cory Hodnett I'm a big fan of getting a Google profile and collecting reviews from real customers. A lot of small businesses completely ignore it, but it's literally the easiest way to grow in my opinion because it's a pretty low effort task. Pairing that with some home warranty contracting for any kind of repair service and the early-stage revenue problem should be pretty much solved.

@Cory Hodnett I agree with getting reviews on multiple platforms. Google is the best starting out though because the faster you build a presence there, you're basically unlocking free leads for life as long as you play by the rules and keep building a legit business. Yelp and Angi's paid programs are the worst early on though. You're competing against 4 other companies for the same lead, usually price shoppers. So speed to lead is huge and it isn't great for owners who are out in the field doing fulfillment.
