Let's Revisit the Rescented App Topic
Now that the Rescented app has launched an Android counterpart and has had some time to gain some exposure among fragrance lovers, I want to gather some true sentiments from those who have seen and/or used it. Despite the fact that there are a few safety components incorporated into the design, does it measure up to the hype? Is there an adequate offering of a variety of fragrances that would support a broad customer base? From what I have seen, the merchandise seems to be moving at a very slow pace. The same few items remain on the site because the price points are too high. Conversely, I have an Amouage fragrance that is reasonably priced below the original retail price for which I paid, yet the only offers I have received are ridiculously low, and I'm certainly not going to give away a full bottle of a niche fragrance of that caliber. What has been your experience if any? Do you see this platform growing into the future? How can it improve? Thoughts?

@Steve Louis you can go to their website on your phone or computer if you’re not using iOS. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DSV3V5IAE4g/?igsh=M3dqOWU2OXhjYTJs

@Carl S, thank you for taking the time to add to my comments regarding Rescented. I was very excited to learn about the app after seeing Justin Copeland’s endorsement on his channel, as he is one of the few fragrance influencers that I still hold a high degree of respect. With all the security measures in place, I sincerely hope the app will rise above the stigma of such platforms as eBay and Facebook Marketplace and amass a loyal following that will be a valuable resource for all fragrance enthusiasts.

The winner was Sahare by Bvlgari, and I was surprised that I had started to enjoy Blue Sapphire much more than expected.

I made a stop at Bloomingdale’s last week and discovered Bvlgari Sahare! It is one of the best rose fragrances I have ever put my nose on.
I'm starting to understand...
One day I literally woke up and decided I was interested in fragrances. I couldn't explain it to save my life and it was completely inconsistent with anything else I have ever done or any other interest I had in my life. I really don't know what drove me here. This morning I was watching one of the 3 dozen YouTube influencers that I subscribe to and this recent video was LOADED with very interesting information including an explanation as to why I'm suddenly into frags. Because I'm a type 2 diabetic, the docs have got me on a GLP. Studies are starting to surface showing that GLP users are now using frags as a substitute for things like food very often. I think this guy's video is very interesting and he covers other things too. IMO it's worth spending 20 minutes to watch. https://youtu.be/R0CujcVCREg?si=Uu4tiQHG7xTiKD6D

@Steve Louis Exactly! It's like the perfect, most beautiful chord rains down from the heavens after the realization of finally understanding one's self and learning there are others that understand through their own empirical experiences. There's an inexplicable peace that envelops you and assures you that you're not alone and there is a pathological explanation for this behavior. Thankfully, it's calorie free, but it can indeed become expensive and impulsive. BTW, I weighed in this morning at 167 down to a 32" waist from 260 and 48" in February.

@Steve Louis I had to buy a complete new wardrobe, and just yesterday, some items arrived via UPS. One brand of jeans is actually too big in a size 32", but I dare not go down a size. I have body dysmorphic disorder because I still see that 260lb person in the mirror.
What scent did you wear the most in 2025?
For me, Valentino's Born in Roma Extadose wins by far. It a simple and addictive scent that is great for layering, and suitable for every season. Lavender and wood, with sweet and spice It plays well with others. If you like layering, and experimenting, Extradose is simple but loud, it last long, projects well, and is a compliment getter. I like using it as a base and adding a shot (or 2) of something else. (Coral fantasy and Dylan Blue are nice partners, but PdM's Layton seems a particularly special friend of Extradose... 3 shots of Extradose, 1 shot of Coral Fantasy, and 1 shot of Layton is my secret formula.) What scent did you use most this year, and why?

@Aaron Hosea I only WISH I could find a fragrance that could captivate me in such a way. In all my quests for the perfect scent that speaks to me and defines me, nothing has compelled me to scream EUREKA!

Though I have yet to find a signature scent, by measure of dents, the top spot by far on my list goes to Terre d’Hermes.its not that I wear it frequently, but when I do wear it, I tend to apply it abundantly. I enjoy the air of sophistication that lingers in the ever so important, yet never offensive sillage, and it’s definitely the citrus that does it for me.

Passionate about fragrances and I'd like to increase my knowledge and exposure to the science of perfumery. Every refined man should smell the part.
