Facewatch! At Sports Direct Facial recognision in opperation
Have a look at the attached, I saw this poster outside a sports direct shop today, so perhaps this is being rolled out throughput their stores? Anyone else seen this...im not too fused as not planning to go in there, but i couldnt believe it.. I have never seen this before anywhere, and probably this software has been used before without this kind of forwarning, but either way- this is dystopian s#!@ ...if they start using this everywhere, what rights would you have to object etc....anyway, might be worth popping your head in thier and SARing them to see what they come back with, but theyre dpo and details are clearly written there and it tells you before you enter. Whats everyones take on this?

@Peter Wilson yea I know, its jist the first time ive seen this type of notice outside a shop openly telling you theyre doing it and pre empting questions about legitimate interest etc...they openinly tell you how to contact the dpo etc. In this instance, the actuall shop isnt the data controller
Transferring a C Card 'debt' to a new c card
if you are transferring a credit card debt to another card (extending the 0% for 6 months) can you request the DoA from the new c card company?

It not relevant in this instance.. They dont need one if youve requested the transfer, theyve just followed your instruction and 'paid'....its just a transaction isnt it?
GDPR Breach - settlement Win 💪🏻♟️
Recently won a claim via settlement agreement...without going into too many details this was agianst a large corperation and resulted in a few thousand £ and avoided court. Important points - Pre action protocol was followed two LBAs were served prior to issuimg a claim, they ignored them both. This is a personal approach, but I want hasty in issuimg a claim, and I think this demonstrates you are equitable and this would be seen favourably if it goes all the way to court. This was a win for sure and the first GDPR win via a court/mcil claim route. This was due to my own learning and understnding of gdpr/sar, filling correctly, pre action protocols and tight paperwork that meant I was able to checmate them and see through their indeffencable defence ♟️💪🏻. This was also due to Peters and Dimebars dedication to knowledge sharing and establishing this group along with others that bring all the resourses available in CMTM, and a massive thanks to Peter and Dimebar and the group as a whole for assisting and sharing knowledge which means wins lime this are possible with the right grounding and attitude...we win or we learn....big thanks and appreciateion 💪🏻♟️🤝🏻

@Paul Elkington cheers, fundamentally I didnt do anything different... Initially Sar was raised and not complied with within 30 days (this was for specific data/ information), it was refused on irrelevant grounds and the data not provided, this was challenged. A second and final SAR was submittied after the initial 30 days and that gave a final 7 days to comply with the initial sar. ICO complaint submitted at the same time. Following the final Sar not beimg complied with after the secomd and final sar, an LBA was issued....gave 14 days. This was ignored. 2nd and final LBA issued giving a final 14 days was also ignored (both LBAs mentioned a willingness to mediate/discuss a settlement) Then the claim was issued (via moneyclaims online service rather than MCOL) deffence filed, and then court mediation reached a settlement before hearing.....claim was for about double what was accepted at settlement) I dont think anthing was fundamentally a different approach, but this was for specific data, and I personally dont think you should expect to settle a 5k claim for non compliance with a sar (for example), and actually I personally dont think you should put a 5k claim in for non compliance with a sar, and you have to be able to demonstrate non material damage aswell, so depends what your claiming and what your figure is to avoid court and the time and energy that court and prep for court that is needed....so a few individual factors that are dependent on personal circumstances and risk tollerance ...hope this helps

I was thinking about this recently and had another encounter, went into an underground carpark that clearly displayed the amount chargable per hour before engering, but upon leaving I tried to pay with money, (fiat cash)...I didnt have a card, so went to the barrier and said Id like to pay with cash, they said they couldnt accept cash, but they would take my reg number and let me out, but I had to come back later and pay otherwise I would get an £80 fine....🤣 would like to see that happen...amyway the clearly indicated sign prior to entering the parking doesnt mention the method of payment, so that make the terms unenforcable as far as im aware?...I wonder if the app would indicate this aswell. Chat gtp seemed to suggest the offer of tender and refusal was a weak arguement, but the unfair/unclear displayed contract terms were the key arguement in this case....not sure if anyone else has encountered similar or been able to dismiss charges when you have and are prepared to pay in legal tender....I think this only works of you are required to pay on exit, buf if the "service" has been provided and you try to fulfill the contract by paying the amount with cash, and then the service provder refuses cash, its unenforcable and any resulting Notice to owner could be dismissed....anyway, look forward to checking out the app 👍🏻
Notice of Variation to UK Banking and Savings Terms and Conditions
Has anyone else recieved this or similar recently?....this overreach is unreal. This needs to be challenged surely? - amongst other things suggests they can close your account and restrict access to your funds if you're rude to their staff or if they suspect anything they want to then clasify your activity as suspicious!. Ive got an idea what to formalise, but has anyone else had a similar notice, and how would you/have you approached this. Personally I feel like pulling all the fiat out and putting it under the matress...
