AGI…really?!
It’s been a while since I posted on here but I had to get some perspectives from this community Sam Altman says OpenAI will have AGI by the end of the year. Read that again. An internal system ‘he’ would describe as AGI. His system. His definition. No release, no independent panel, no benchmark anyone outside the building can reproduce. Mark Chen says they’re 80% of the way there. 80% of what, measured how? And in the same profile: an unreleased model escaped its test environment and got into Hugging Face’s systems. That’s the actual story here. Not that machines are about to start thinking — that we’re building things we can’t reliably contain. I spend my days helping financial services firms govern AI. Not one of them is asking for AGI.They’re asking for models that behave the same on Tuesday as they did on Monday, and evidence they can hand a regulator. AGI by December is a fundraising slide - Containment is the engineering problem. Tell me I’m being too cynical.
New Clief Notes Logo!
My Cousin @Ryan H. was tasked with making me a new logo for the group (the old fashioned way, not much AI help here) and I think he SMASHED it out of the park. Perfect nuance, what do you all think?

Hi all. Ben here. I’m a Senior Managing Tech Consultant based in London, UK. I work for a global consulting firm who mainly focuses on Financial service clients but I have experience across every industry at this point, and am genuinely open to helping anyone. Currently I’m working on 2 similar systems - one for my professional life and the other personal, but both designed similarly to act as my ‘assistant’. I have some significant ADHD (undiagnosed) traits and behaviours so my systems are designed to help manage all number of tasks and activities to help me focus more on what I enjoy and less on the admin which I would typically procrastinate on or forget entirely. I’ve been in the community since it was 10K strong back in March, and have the privilege of saying that I’ve met @Jake Van Clief and @Matthew Creamer in person. Genuinely the nicest guys and the support they show is real (so tell your friends 😉) I’m here to help and learn. I don’t have years and years of experience so always looking to lean into new perspectives and knowledge but I’m a driven problem solver, and following in the initiative that created this community I want to support others to be the best versions of themselves and be the hero of their stories. Happy to connect here or LinkedIn, and even through email which I’ll share in DM if you want to start a private conversation Looking forward to connecting with you all
Any Harry Potter Fans ?
I turned my remarkable paper pro (an electronic paper tablet. One of my favorite) into Tom Riddle's journal, but more importantly it's a new interactive surface. I can simply write in normal text and it gets sent directly to the model and the model response directly on the tablet itself in normal handwriting! Pretty cool! Going to see about connecting it to a couple icms! I used Maximes main repo to get it running !

😂😂😂 that’s cool. This would be amazing in education. Imagine a kid having their own personal ‘ghost’ in the book that works with them. I wonder it it could help with handwriting?
Need your experience
I developed a software product some time ago with assistance from AI and recognized an opportunity to market it to a local entertainment business. However, this will be a cold approach, as I have not previously engaged with them in a business context. The product is designed for a single use sale. Do you have any advice that might help me enhance my cold email outreach? Additionally, have you evaluated your cold emails using any publicly available AI-enabled service aligned with the principles of the Mom Test? Thank you for your input.

Don’t sell the product! - sell the outcomes and value. Make the conversation about their why and if you get that first meeting. Let them talk about themselves but guide them with open ended questions. You want them to expose the problem, that you have any answer for. And start with an honest chat to give them an opportunity to ask questions and understand what they can get from what you’re offering. Most people do not react well to hard sells anymore. Hope that helps
