The study from which the data is pulled is problematic in a number of areas. First, the study begins with "a survey screened 2,739 individuals aged 18-99 in the USA". Selected how? Screened for what? They never answer the questions which is a problem for any study. Second, the study identifies 1,600 of the 2,739 "reported using Answer Engines in a product research or purchase journey in the last week." This is 58% of the group. The problem is that AI usage in the US is below that and only the 18-29 segment uses AI at that level per Pew Research. This suggests that the "screened individuals aged 18-99" are really mostly in the 18-29 bracket. Third, if you look at the data tables, it shows questions related to . . . running shoe buyers. This segment is dominated in the 18-30 category based on data from several shoe companies and consumer research groups. Fourth, the study generalizes their study to ALL age groups and ALL product categories. This is a big no-no! What the study really says is that younger running shoe buyers use AI heavily for purchase decisions. That's it. Yes, the marketing space is shifting. But I don't expect to see this kind of sloppy analysis from a data driven group. You're better than this.

@Cande Copello I have no doubt it's a factor and growing rapidly. But sensational claims lead to poor decisions. Most "studies" right now are poorly executed and tainted by the preconceptions of the author. But good studies and solid data are always welcome in my world!
