Work on your aerobic base, the reason you’re still hitting a wall is probably that it’s too weak. I had the same problem when I was younger because my aerobic capacity was low. If you’re not sure how to train it, check out the Running Training course. For mental strength, do visualization and meditation, everything’s covered in the Mental course.
Get Personal Feedback on Your Training Schedule
1️⃣ Watch the full Training Running Course. Take some notes while watching and make sure you understand it. You can also read the eBook for extra info. If you’re on the free trial without access to the Training Running Course, just make your schedule using the Training Running Document. 2️⃣ Fill in the questionnaire (you’ll find it in the Training Running Course or below this post). Be as specific as possible. 3️⃣ Make your own training schedule based on the questionnaire and what you learned in the course. Use the Training Running Blueprint as a base, and adapt where needed. I recommend: - Make the schedule specific for the upcoming weeks (1 mesocycle). - Write down: If I feel good, I’ll do this. If it felt too much, I’ll adjust like this... - Plan for how long you'll do base work and when you’ll start your pre-race phase (if needed). You can use the training template I use (see below) or make your own, just make sure it’s clear. 4️⃣ Create a post in the 'Training Schedules📒' category. Add your questionnaire and your schedule. Once you’ve done all steps, I’ll give you feedback as soon as possible.

There’s not much you can do right now to improve your time anymore. What you can do is make sure you’re fresh at the start line, load up enough carbs the day before and on race day, and get your mind right with some meditation and visualization. If you want to shave off minutes in the long term, that's definitely possible with the right training. I recommend reading the running document, making your own schedule, and get in a call or chat with me so I can give you personal guidance and feedback. But for now, good luck with the upcoming race, you got this bro!
