Looks like Erebus quietly posted the new Ascent 40 GMT Aqua ahead of its October 11 release. It’s hard not to miss that dial, bright turquoise with polished indices and a sharp pink GMT hand. It’s eye-catching, no doubt. Powered by the Miyota 9075 traveler GMT, it gives true GMT function with independent hour hand adjustment. On paper, that’s a solid move. Still, as much as I like the specs and finishing, this version feels less GADA. The earlier Ascent carried an understated versatility that worked from casual to formal. This one leans more lifestyle, less everyday companion. It’s a bold look, but maybe not the one I’d grab when I want a single watch for the week. Meeting with a Father/son team today looking to transition from their current firm. Dad is 60, son is 25 and just entering the industry. Happy Saturday! Going with an old favorite today, my Benyar Analog Quartz Chronograph Watch. With the dark blue dial. I specify "dark blue" because I have enjoyed this one so much that I ordered two more along the way. This is another favorite I do not wear often enough. A note if interested in this one. The leather strap option arrives in a light tan, natural color. I darkened and aged this strap myself to lessen the sharp contrast between the dark blue dial and light leather strap.
