Hola!
Hey, what's up, everyone! My name's Anthony, and I'm a sales guy (in the home services industry) from the central coast of Oregon looking to build a list and sell my own info-products so I can hang out with the wife and kids and bum it around on the beach all day. I'm stoked to be here, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys and gals.

Pest control, I'm thinking, lol, but that might not pan out due to legality and slim options for a backend offer. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced it may not work. So I'm heavily considering starting a solo agency built around email list management for businesses that use MailChimp.

>>it didn't last because I wasn't truly passionate about the industry. ==== That really hits home for me. I'm super into copywriting and psychology. I kinda stumbled into copywriting by accident, and I totally love it – it's like sales, but from behind a keyboard. So, I've been struggling with trying to narrow down the kind of agency I want. It definitely needs to be a one-person agency, which is funny because John's actually promoting a product called a one-person advertorial agency that I'm seriously thinking about. I just wanna write copy and geek out, if that makes sense. But I'm so all over the place, and like you said, I get distracted by everything, so I think it would really help if I just focused on one thing to stay on track, at least for now...
How to find interesting ideas to write about in your emails
If I've learned anything, the best way to learn something new is to try to answer the question yourself first, and then when new ideas or answers come later, it's easier to retain and implement the new information later. So my first question is: how do you find ideas that are interesting to you? And my second question is: how do you retain and store them future use? Once you've answered the two questions above, you're already half way there. Because once you notice what's interesting to you, all that's left is to find a unique and memorable way to teach it to others. So how might you store and keep track of interesting ideas to you in a such a way that it's easy to have numerous ideas to choose from at your fingertips anytime you sit down to write an email? Then I'll come back and share the way I do it tomorrow. Here's a hint, the idea originates in Ancient Athens.

All of my ideas come from what I consume. I read a lot about comic book writers, artists, and CEOs. I find a ton of insights just from the editorial columns—especially from the comics back in the early and mid-'80s, when Marvel and DC were really bumping heads with one another. Great stuff, too. All of it you can apply today in your marketing, sales, or whatever. I also keep a “Fodder Fondler File” on YouTube, where I save and archive documentaries, interviews, and other things about the comic book industry, as well as CEOs like Paul Van Doren (the guy who invented the Vans shoe company) and other big players, like the owners of Ford, Fiat, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and more. If there was rivalry between two giant companies, I want to learn everything I can about it. There’s just a ton of gold you can learn from that. As for how I store it and keep track? No clue! I’m horrible with that. I’ve tried taking notes on Google Docs and on my phone, but that stuff just never works out for me.

@Kevin Hood None. I even tried to get John Bejakovic to sell me his old note-taking product he used to sell, but he refused. So many people who purchased it came back with issues that got in the way of them taking notes using the process he teaches, and that's when he realized that everybody is completely different when it to comes to recording and storing ideas and notes. So I've been a lost cause ever since 😕 🙃
