Planning in Layers
Spent today in the garden and with client work… and it struck me again how similar the two really are. Nothing happens all at once. Not in the soil~ Not in our work~ And most certainly~ not in our lives~! We plan in layers~ We build in layers~ We grow in layers~ Some things are being planted. Some are quietly taking root. Some are finally ready to be seen. Perennial Planning isn’t about forcing everything to bloom at the same time~ it’s about understanding when each layer belongs. Because when things are layered well, we can do more… without carrying everything all at once. A great mentor and friend of mine always refers back to Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott consistently~ and this is another good time to bring it up. So wherever you are today~ planting, tending, or harvesting~ You’re in your season. Where are you working right now~ what layer are you in? 🌿

Most days I feel like I’m still composting and enriching the soil before I can even plant.

Shifting Capacity 🌿
Your capacity isn’t fixed. It moves~ day to day, season to season. Rising and falling like the tides~ Some days you can hold a lot. Other days, even small things feel heavy like rolling waves. That’s normal. We are people~ and even in nature it means that there is a change, and it’s not a bad thing. You noticing It means you’re paying attention to yourself. Perennial Planning isn’t about forcing consistency~ it’s about adjusting with honesty and opening to your day to day self. What does your capacity look like this weekend? And what would it feel like to plan with that, instead of against it?

Relaxing weekend~
Honestly, I don’t even like the word lazy~ it discredits so much of what we actually do in our lives. We spend most of our time studying when we’re younger, and working when we’re older. There isn’t much room left for just~ being and existing. And even when you love what you do (I know I do), it’s still work. Taking a break~ a real breather~ is necessary. It’s recovery. It’s space. It’s your system catching up. Not every day needs to move things forward. Some days are just for being a person again. And relaxing and existing is part of life~ it should be part of your plans too.

I'm in a push season right now, but I will be building in rest and recovery time in the coming weeks. Hope you're having a relaxing weekend 💖

@Hansheng Lee good to hear. I'm just trying to get my tire replaced on my mower so I can cut down the jungle out there lol
Weekend Reset/ Rest-Set 🌿
The week’s coming into view~ Before you move on to the next week, pause for a second~ not to review everything, just to notice a few honest things: What actually grabbed your attention this week? What quietly took more energy than expected? Where did your energy change? And what felt~ steady and stable? And maybe~ what’s starting to build momentum? Weekends aren’t always for resetting. Sometimes they’re for continuing~ just differently. A slower pace~ A softer grip~ A little more room to breathe between things~ Rest isn’t separate from progress. It’s what allows it to continue without strain. Rest is a huge part of what is needed to breathe and move through spaces and moments. And rest is essential for that to happen. Give yourself permission to carry what you need to over, and move what doesnt. Your life is yours to dictate and narrate~ Take what you've learned and use it to give yourself clarity for the next week. That’s what'll make next week easier~ Happy Friday~! ~Hansheng

Definitely taking the weekend off from my day job to focus on Skool and catch up on life. I swear my grass grew 3" overnight!

@Hansheng Lee I used to enjoy mowing because it was a mindless activity that gave me alone time to think. Now I'm just like UGH
Midweek Check-In 🌿
By Wednesday, the week has already shown you something. What’s working. What’s dragging and taking a bit more energy than you expected. What’s asking for more from you than you actually have to give. This is where Perennial Planning gently steps in~ not pushes, but adjustments. You don’t need to restart your week. You don’t need to “catch up.” You just need to refocus and realign to what IS working. Take a moment today to ask: - What still feels aligned with my energy this week? - What can be softened, simplified, or moved? - What actually matters for the rest of this week~ not in theory, but in reality? Midweek isn’t a checkpoint for judgment. It’s a place for quiet course correction. Just like tending a garden~ you don’t rip everything out halfway through. You adjust the light. You prune a few branches that need trimming. You water what needs it. You let some things rest. And sometimes, that's enough~ ^_^
