Just curious... How old you were when you started skating and how old you are now? I'll go first: I first skated at 10 or so and stopped skating at about 15. Just bought my first pair of skates earlier this year at 37 and rolled right into 38 🥳. My favorite skater at the rink started skating at 72. He is now 82 and such an inspiration.

@Mariam Farah Absolutely! There is no age limit and I can relate to the embarrassment. I was so self conscious in the beginning but practice and time has helped build up some confidence.

Lately my go-to shuffle has been loaded with 90s and 2000s rap/r&b. Oftentimes when the sun is about to set in a trail skate, I throw in random 80s hits like Take on me by A-Ha 😆

The cha cha!

I’ve been struggling with backwards skating. I met an older skater that was 82 and he suggested I shift my weight like I’m doing the cha cha. Interestingly this made sense even though I’ve never done the cha cha and am pretty sure it’s not actually what I’m doing 😆 Either way it clicked for me and I’ve been smooth sailing since.
