How to get Google business account verified?
We run a guesthouse in a small village in Albania. The village has no street names, there are no other verified businesses. On Google Maps there is only the mosque and the school. Both about 1km away from us. In order to verify our account, we need to make a video in one take of max 5 minutes with a number of assignments (like filming the name of the road and other impossible things). I tried many times, it gets rejected all the time. Has anyone dealt with this? We are located in rural Albania. Before, in The Netherlands, I remember it was a matter of having a code sent to the address, but that option is not given here.

Smart to work with opening the door with a key and having something of a sign. Just printed something that I can put inside a frame and hang next to the door. The name that is in pebbles in concrete at the entrance was not accepted. In previous attempts I would open our AirBnB account, to show that I have acces to the finances. Will do that again. The first part is impossible (we have no sign at the village, and the mosque that is on Google, is 10 to 15 minutes driving away - while they ask for 1 shot of max 5 minutes). I'll keep trying :D
Hi there, nice to meet you all :)
Hi everyone, my name is Miroslav and I am very happy to join this community and learn from its members. Why am I here? My wife owns a travel agency here in Bulgaria and I am helping her get momentum and go from self-employed to a real business with 2-3 travel agents working for the agency. I know the drill, as far as every business works the same way: we need more leads that we can convert into more sales that will bring us more revenue that will give us more budget for ads that will bring in more leads etc. What am I looking to learn? I have background in the travel industry, but its from 13 years ago and my skills are pretty rusty. I want to learn what works now - in terms of different ad formats, copys, visuals, hooks, cta's etc etc. I am also looking into dfferent content strategies for the different platforms - meta (facebook and instagram), tiktok, youtube and linkedin. I hope I will find most of the knowledge in the Classroom section in the group and also that the other members will share their knowledge. Thank you very much and have a great day everyone.

Hi Miroslav, nice to meet you here. Yes, that how it works. The challenge is to get the ball rolling that way.

@Miroslav Marinov I'm relatively new to this kind of business myself. For my academic writing retreats I built up an e-mail list. People hardly book such thing based on just social media or ads. E-mailing allows for them to get to know you better. In addition I use LinkedIn and Instagram. For the solo retreat that we would like to offer I am considering payed ads on Meta with retargeting after people came to the site. In the Classroom there is interesting information on this. Making you finding out why people don't book and use that in your retargeting ad. I'm not very consistent in posting on instagram (and I don't seem to hit the right spot yet), but it is something I think could work As for your wife's business. It depends on where your clients are. LinkedIn may not be the most logical one if it's pure traveling for pleasure, unless you are in the high-end market.
Hello from Villa Lugina, Albania
We renovated a place in central Albania, away from all the touristic areas and called it Villa Lugina. We live here and created rooms for guests on the ground floor. Around the house there are some cosy small huts and a communal space with a veranda that can be used as a co-workplace. It's tucked at the end of a small valley, a simple place for anyone who needs a break—whether that’s for focused work, writing, or catching up on sleep. There’s no rush here. We organise things like writing weeks, workations and offline weekends. Sometimes others organise their event here, from a business retreat to a yoga weekend. And it's open to individual guests, too. What all our guests have in common? They appreciate calm, nature, simplicity, and attention to detail. This isn’t a luxury resort — it’s a thoughtfully created space where it’s quiet, the food is good, and you can follow your own rhythm. I started building a website over a year ago, but got stuck. So most of our guests come through the OTA's or from my personal and business network. I would like to have a website that makes sense, that attracts the right people and start advertising to see if we can increase the number of bookings. We do a little social media, but it's really not my cup of tea. I find it hard to be consistent. I need a bit an encouragement to get it all rolling so to speak. Hoping to learn from you! Andrina

@Ramses Sagouti thank you. And thanks for all the helpful tools and information here
Bespoke, Small Group, Private Wine Tasting in the Hunter Valley!
Happy to be here and hopeful of helping and getting help through a community of like-minded people. Currently I don't take online bookings as I find it hard to marry up with the idea of one-off bespoke tours based on the customers needs. I guess I will need to see how others are doing this. Best regards, Graeme

@Graeme Davies well, in my other business I offer online co-working sessions for thesis students who tend to procrastinate. We found that people search in Google for thesis support, but I don't read or provide feedback on the thesis. So even if they clicked, they didn't find what they were looking for. Those online sessions started during covid. Prior I organized thesis writing retreats. For that, too, Meta ads worked better. Currently my partner and I have a small guesthouse/homestay in Albania with onsite co-work facilities. In terms of website and visibility we are starting from scratch again. We didn't do any advertising yet (as there is no serious website available yet), but it will be Meta over Google again.

Interesting niche you have @Jared Fontaine . Do you do MTB as well? We are running a small guesthouse in Fushe Buall, near Elbasan. Not much tourism here, but a few nice trails you could explore.
