Important Community Update
Hey everyone, I need to address something that's been happening lately. We've been getting hit with spam accounts, AI bots, and people sneaking in just to promote their own services. It's been frustrating watching the quality of our community get diluted by freeloaders who don't actually care about growing as composers. Here's the thing - I spend a lot of time creating videos, tutorials, and answering private message questions entirely for free. And I'll continue doing that because I genuinely want to help you succeed. But to compensate for that time investment and keep this community sustainable, I'm introducing some changes: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! ⚠️ For EVERYONE ALREADY HERE: If you joined for free, you're staying free. Forever. You're grandfathered in. NOTHING changes for you. ⚠️ ⚠️ If you purchased courses before, they are STAYING YOURS. If you joined the premium tier, EVERYTHING STAYS THE SAME ⚠️ For New Members (as of today, 22th Nov. 2025): - Standard Tier: $7/month or $70/year - Full community access, tutorials, partner deals, and networking resources - Premium Tier: $27/month or $270/year - Everything in Standard PLUS access to ALL courses on the platform (Trailer Music Trailblazers I & II, Game Music Conquerors, etc.) This isn't about making money. It's about protecting what we've built here and ensuring I can keep dedicating time to creating valuable content for you. A small barrier filters out the noise and keeps this community focused on what actually matters - helping serious composers build real careers. You'll see me sharing more valuable content, more actionable strategies, and less tolerance for BS moving forward. Questions? Drop them below. Cheerio, Alex

Nuendo/Cubase Template has big size
Hey everyone, I’ve got a question. I just noticed that my orchestral template is taking up a crazy amount of GB. Inside I only have Kontakt 8, Arturia Collection instruments, Spitfire Audio, LABS, and a few other synths, and they’re all disabled. I talked to a few friends, and they said their templates, even with more than a hundred extra tracks compared to mine, are still much smaller in size. So I’m trying to figure out what’s going on. @Alessandro Mallegni (Yes Alex I'm still trying to find a solution 😅) suggested rebuilding the template from scratch, but I really don’t have the time right now. At the moment, every new project is around one gigabyte, which feels way too big. I also contacted Steinberg support, and they told me to check if there’s any ARA data or audio files in the Pool, but it’s completely empty. After looking into it, they said that some VST instruments store a lot of data inside the project file, such as preset information, so depending on what’s preloaded in your template, the file size can grow significantly. Has anyone else run into this issue before? And if so, how did you fix it? Any other tips or workarounds would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

I had this problem once years ago (with Cubase 11 Pro). At the time, I created a completely empty project and recreated EVERYTHING. The result: the new template (an every new project) required significantly less memory AND, strangely enough, the processor load was also much lower. I think it's worth setting up a completely new template! Or you can create a template with all the group tracks and then add new instrument tracks as needed. Oh, and there are two other ways to make KONTAKT “slimmer.” Either create ACTIVATED tracks and use PURGE ALL per instrument, or create the tracks, DEACTIVATE them, and save the template. The former has the disadvantage that the project takes a little longer to open, since the instruments are already preloaded

@Carlo Tuzza I would save myself the time of searching for errors in the old template. Cubase is just Cubase ;-) Create a clean new template and start composing
I Messed Up - We're Changing the Prize System
Hey Audio Artist Academy fam, I need to talk to you about something that's been on my mind. When I introduced the monthly cash prizes for our top members, my intention was to reward your dedication and activity. But honestly? It backfired. I've noticed the energy shift. It feels like some of you have been chasing the money rather than genuinely connecting and helping each other grow. It got to a point where some members even created fake accounts to reward their own posts and climb the rankings faster. That's a huge red flag and completely goes against what we're building here. (Yes, I have proof for this!) I've also seen members leave, and I can't help but think the competitive prize structure and this kind of behavior played a role in that. That's not what this community is about, and I take responsibility for creating a system that encouraged the wrong kind of engagement. So we're making a change - effective immediately. The money prizes are gone. Instead, here's the new monthly recognition for our top 3 most active members: 🥇 1st Place: 30-minute 1-on-1 call with me (feedback session, Q&A, whatever you need) 🥈 2nd Place: Written feedback or voice note on one of your tracks 🥉 3rd Place: Community spotlight - I'll feature your work in a Skool post here and give you some exposure These rewards are about learning, growth, and visibility - not cash. I want this to feel like recognition, not a competition that divides us. Thanks for understanding, and let's get back to what matters: supporting each other and making great music together.

I also think it's a shame that there are members who want to enrich themselves at the expense of others! But @Alex Pfeffer , you really meant well and shouldn't blame yourself!! I've been here pretty much from the start, so I can only imagine how much energy and time you've put into this excellent platform. I've learned so much from you. Thank you for that 🙏
Okay so... Monday might be a problem for your wallet
Real talk for a second. I've been putting together this Black Box campaign for the past few weeks with some sample library developers and other partners. And honestly? The deals we locked in are kind of ridiculous. Like... the kind of numbers that made me double-check if they meant what they wrote. First box opens Monday. Winners get drawn. Deals drop that literally won't exist anywhere else. Then it happens again next week. And the week after. Until the beginning of December. Here's the thing though: If you're not in the campaign yet, you miss the first reveal entirely. And trust me, you don't want to miss what's in Box #1. Takes 30 seconds to enter: https://growbaze.com/black-box-2025 One entry = all four weeks of surprises. I'm not going to sit here and hype it up with typical marketing BS. Just know that I've never done Black Friday deals like this before. I will probably go broke! And I've been doing this for a while. Box #1 drops Monday morning. You've been warned. — Alex P.S. — Got composer friends who'd hate themselves for missing this? Feel free to share the link.
