Plein Air Painting - Painting Trees in my Local Area
Hey Artists Yesterday's plein air painting. It's so nice to just go out into my local area and paint these beautiful countryside scenes, especially trees. One of the things I'm trying to do now is go outdoors painting more regularly. I'm trying to see if I can get out once a week and just capture my local area on canvas, especially these countryside scenes, farmland, rolling green hills. I want to go out painting at least once a week to improve my plein air painting skills. The other cool thing is seeing the changing seasons here as it is now autumn in far north New Zealand where I live. I painted this artwork on an 8” by 10” linen panel in oils. Is anyone here in the group going outdoors to paint en plein air? Happy painting Sam P.S. If you'd like to learn how to paint trees like this so that you can just paint them outdoors or just improve your tree painting skills, then right now we have a tree painting course at my art school which has just started. You can catch up. Click the link to join. https://www.skool.com/samuel-earp-online-art-school/about

I have a question. I don't have a portable easel. Is there something I can use as an easel until I'm able to get one?

Oil painting on paper ! I have not painted in a long time so thought I would start small and focus on colour mixing 👍 Oil on oil paper 💕 @nicole_brown_paints on Instagram if you wish to follow 🤩

This is fantastic 😍! I plant a lot of milkweed each year for the butterflies and moths, and I feel like your art encapsulates the spirit of nature wonderfully!

Beautiful! Love the bark so much!
First complete oil painting
For being my first oil painting I'm pretty happy. The water is definitely more green than I anticipated, and I'm not sure about the hilight and shadow on the mountain. But I am happy with the clouds. Comments are welcome!

Striking Iris, acrylics on canvas
Haven’t painted anything using acrylics for a while but I loved this striking photo and wanted to paint it. My husband kindly framed it for me.
