Nicely done @Tiago De paula πŸ‘. Good lighting and shadowing effects in flowers and vase. I like the time aged patina effect that you incorporated into the window framing. Gives the piece a scene of realism.

Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that I'll be closing this community shortly. I've been running this free community for over two years, and I'm grateful to everyone who's been part of it. Alongside this, I've been teaching inside Sam's Landscape Painting School, where a few months ago I extended the live painting classes to a full two hours every Monday NZ time (Sunday USA) on Zoom. Moving forward, I want to focus all my energy on Sam's Landscape Painting School and the students within it. If you've been thinking about joining, now is a great time β€” right now there's a FREE 7-day trial available until Monday 25th May. You can find out more here: https://go.samuelearp.com/landscape-painting-school If you've previously purchased any products or membership access through this group, I'll be reaching out to you personally with something special. Thanks for being part of this community. I hope to see some of you inside Sam's Landscape Painting School. Happy painting Sam

Hi @Samuel Earp, Just a thought here after reading John Toppings comment. I also only accomplish a painting every couple of months. Last week I purchased your 4 painting workshop set ($19 US) -Mountain Stream -Rees Valley -Rural Landscape -Matukituki Valley This is great for me as it allows me to work a my own pace. Any thoughts on maybe continuing to offer these "small bundled workshops" in you new business model? 😎

A thought
It just occurred to me (to be totally honest, while looking at Shane's work- yikes, thanks Shane 🀣) that I can never be as skilled as some of you are. But that's not the point, is it? To me, the point is that each of us is driven by some inner desire to create and share what we see. We can all improve, and it's so fantastic that we do. But at a fundamental level, we're all artists, with artistic minds. And those are the types of folks that I connect with, whether I've met them face to face or not. OK, sorry for the interruption. Carry on.

Well said @Brian Igelman πŸ‘. Totally agree with all the comments above. Peggy Bishop said above we are all looking for our own personal style. And Robert Reichard mentioned "compare your current work to your past work". I too am pretty good at following step-by-step videos, but I struggle at times with developing my own works. All inspirational words for our individual artistic journeys!
A couple of my 2025 favourites
@Mak Olvik has prompted me to post a couple of my landscapes on 'Painters Hub' so here are four of my 2025 favourites from our annual exhibition based on the Flinders Ranges, South Australia.

Very impressive work(s) @Shane Larkin. At first glance, I too thought they were photographs. I would say you are well on your way to becoming an accomplished artist. πŸ‘
Cloud, oil on canvas
My first attempt of painting a cloud. It’s fun!😊

Well done @Renate Wagner πŸ‘. I struggle with clouds at times. Usually redoing them over and over.

I am a retired programmer/analyst. I decided to take up oil painting in Dec 2023 as a hobby. I am hoping to further enhanced my painting skills.
