Getting glutened
Hello everyone, I'm recently diagnosed and have been on a gluten free diet for a little over a month. I've been as careful as I can be but I am still bombarded with new and old symptoms. Sometimes eating makes me feel so tired I end up falling asleep. Last week I had a weird episode that lasted 2 days where I was shaky, weak, had joint pain, felt like I couldn't breathe and a high heartrate. I almost fainted walking 100 yards to the mailbox and had to call in sick. Has this happened to anyone? How do you know when you've been glutened? Are these symptoms of being glutened or is it because my diet needs work/my body getting used to the new diet? I know I am vitamin deficient but haven't been able to afford vitamins yet, unfortunately. Thank you for reading! I don't want to complain, I am just confused. I feel like I don't know my body anymore.

Hi everyone! My name is Alexandra and I was diagnosed last month in January. I am from California in the US. As far as I know, I am the only celiac in my family and it was really shocking to find out. I am 28 but have been having GI issues since I was a teenager. They got significantly worse in my 20s until I finally went to the doctor. I'm super grateful that so much help and support and gluten friendly food exists now, though. It's making the change feel not as bad as it could be.

@Carissa Hanson The same thing was happening with my grandmother before she died as well so I've been wondering if she was celiac. That's crazy that so many people found out through you. I believe my mom might get tested but I'm not sure about any of my other family members yet.
