Out of state brides
Hiii, I’ve a handful of brides that are out of state brides who are getting married in the PNW. My 3 packages include a preview, however in the past I’ve been more lenient on giving them the option to not get a preview due to the timeframe they’ll be in town. However, I don’t want to do that for the 2026 wedding season because I end up loosing out of money ($300). Should I create an Out of state bridal package? Or should I just stick with my packages and say “sorry packages are as is” (obviously in a nicer tone/way) Thanks!!
How much communication is too much?
Dubsado users: Now, I know we all can see when our contract is viewed and when its just sitting there collecting dust and moving to the 2nd page of our brides email list. Is it overstepping if I reach her via text and say like, "hey girlfriend, Alaska here with AGB I received your inquiry looking for your bridal hair BFF. I sent your proposal via email, make sure to check your spam folder..." etc. or is that too invasive? haha. I want to make sure they are aware that an email has been sent with a proposal. OR should I just stay with email notification and my follow up emails?

@Marissa Brennan yeah girl you saw that?! I’ve been using it for everything 🤣 I wish I would have got it sooner for all the 2026 brides who ghosted me 😆👻 it’s still early to say if it works for me so giving it some time before I give any feedback, positive vibes! ✨
Okay, time to reinvent
I did a comparison from my 2024 👉2025 and here’s what’s new: 🤍im getting more inquiries — yay! 🤩 🤍conversion dipped slightly (2024: 35% to 2025: 29%) but that’s because I increased my prices so my new audience is adjusting lol.. — also a yay 🤩 🤍my “out of their budget” inquires dropped percentage wise so I went from 23% in 2024 to 9% in 2025 — yay! 🤩 💔 need to work on getting ghosted… less. In 2024 I was getting ghosted 54% and in 2025 I was getting ghosted 66% How do I know my follow ups are working properly? I have the same set up from BBA 2023. Do brides want more, instant info after they submit an inquiry? Like instead of sending them the courtesy email of “here are my admin days, let’s connect on IG in the meantime” should I be sending an overview of my packages and list dates I’m available so they know what to expect from my next email? Help!

Thank you! It is such a game changer being able to do a comparison from just 2024 to 2025. I'm honestly curious what my 2023 was looking like to see how much my business has grown. I HAD NEVER been so organized and thorough about my inquiries, bookings, etc. so this is such a great eye opener to see WHERE I need to make improvements to be more aligned with my brand what I am creating. I appreciate all the guidance you have provided, seriously! It has helped me so much to be more of a BOSS *INSERT RICK ROSS VOICE* 🤣, knowing exactly how my business is moving instead of wondering why i'm not getting booked my ideal brides, or if im charging enough, etc. It is also nice to be able to forecast the following year. I will absolutely be checking out the link you provided for Booked + Profitable and give you feedback :)
The level up?
Hi hi! I’m at the point where I’m starting to get more recognition. I’ve had people reach out wanting to learn how I run my business and even want to sit down and talk business, I’ve even had other stylists ask me to train them. It’s all great news and a big ego stroke but I’m curious, should I charge for my time? Or…

Hair extension rental prices
Hi all, I have been slowly hacking at making my admin side of booking to feel more polished and on brand since starting with Marissa’s BBA in 2023 🤍 I have chatGPT as my bestie and she suggested for me to charge for the labor/styling + trial hair extensions try on + rental. Before: I was charging $25 for the “try before you rent” option at my brides trial, and $100 for the rental for their wedding. Not factoring in the cost of buying poly mailers, hair extension storage bags, and shipping! 😅🤦‍♀️ Now after explaining to chatGPT I charge $150/hr and extensions can be up to 30-45min extra time here’s what we came up with: $75 try on $150 rental $125 styling day of the wedding Does this sound reasonable? I feel like $350 is a lot 🫣

@Marissa Brennan haha yeah, I’m still alive 🤣 — thank you for the feed back, I thought the same thing because it felt like a big jump + honestly thought about a client who once was a past bride that hired me for a family photoshoot that was non bridal. I offered hair extension rentals and at the time I quoted her $250 and she was like, “Im not rich, I can’t afford that”. I’m just trying to find the sweet spot. I feel like brides were booking the hair extensions because it WAS affordable $125 to rent hair extensions, hell yeah! But now I’m stuck because I quoted a bride $349.97 (using the 0.99 rule) and she didn’t bat an eye… not sure if she loves me as her bridal hair BFF + sees me as the pro or if I’m just getting lucky with her not having a problem spending that much 😅 I asked ChatGPT the prompt and she said base/break even rate $214, but to make profit I need to charge $350-$450 per bride 😬
