Hello everyone, Today I had to raise plan pricing on my https://planmysemester.xyz/ website due to rising hosting costs. The hosting costs increased by 67%, and I have a question for you. How do you all combat hosting costs? My tactic for my site was to use the cheapest, but also extremely reliable, options I was able to choose so that I can keep my margins up, not to have to pass on all of the hosting rises to my customers; however, obviously, this one was a little much to keep my costs down. It only yielded a $1 increase for my monthly plans, and my yearly plan adjusted accordingly, resulting in a $5 increase for the year, which is not all that bad; however, for a site made for students, that can be a significant increase. I also allow students to submit support tickets requesting special rates, and I work with anyone on their current situation, which helps many people. My goal is to be as ethical as possible while still making a profit. A 5% margin for people in less fortunate circumstances isn't a significant impact on me, given my margins on my normal rates. These are a couple of methods I use; I'd appreciate additional insights. What do you all do?
