Welcome Everyone Introduce Yourself! 🥳
🚨 [Update: As you read some of these introductions, smash THEIR LIKE BUTTON 👍 Take it one step further by commenting on their introduction to earn bonus points and unlock more features in this group.]🚨 I am thankful to you all for joining this group. Could you please introduce yourself? Not only does this allow us to get to know everyone, but SKOOL is built on points. (Liking, Commenting, and Posting all give you points). Points will also unlock classroom courses for you! Check out the Getting Started Welcome Course: https://swiy.co/getting-started So let's get things started! When I was teaching in the classroom, we would go around the room and have you do the following. 1. State Your Name (Skool does this one for us - lol) 2. What had you been interested in learning to code? 3. What is your favorite potato? Me: What sparked my interest was my enjoyment of problem-solving and making life easier for myself. I wanted to learn how to create apps that could help my kids learn math and spelling, so I developed apps for that purpose. As far as a favorite potato. I would say Chick-fil-A fries. 🔥 As always, help this community grow. Skool gives you a special invite code. This also serves as your affiliate code, as being part of this group gives you the ability to earn a 40% commission. This applies to one-time purchases of courses or our premium membership.

When teaching in class we used Zork... A Zork-style text adventure game would be a great project. You could create different room, player, enemy, and item classes. The player could move between locations, collect objects, solve puzzles, unlock doors, and fight enemies using typed commands. Start with commands like: - go north - look - take key - open door - check inventory - attack enemy
Use Skool To Network and...
Potentially get you clients or at the very least be seen by others. I know that we're all learning how to become developers. Some of us in this group are developers working for companies, while others are freelancers, and a real great way for you to utilize the SKOOL Network to network is the following... 1. Update your SKOOL profile. ✅ And what do I mean by that? Get yourself a picture up there. Make sure you have your name, and if you are, I believe, active for 60 days, you can change the actual link to your username. You can choose to make your profile public, which means it's searchable by Google. And probably most importantly, add your social media links on there to include a website or portfolio. 2. Be active in a community. ✅ It doesn't have to be THIS community, but you can be active in many communities. A lot of times, when I see somebody make a post or they reply to my comment, I'm checking out their profile. I'm seen if they have a LinkedIn account where I can go ahead and connect with them on LinkedIn. I think by default, if you like somebody's comment, it sends them a notification with who liked it. Again, that's another opportunity for somebody to take a look at your profile, and then they just click your social media link to follow you to your portfolio page. 3. Look at the Leaderboards ✅ Many groups have leader boards posted. If you go to a leaderboard and you see how much they contributed to the group, you know that they are active. Depending upon the community rules, you might even be able to message these people once you've reached a certain level. 4. Join groups where your ideal client may hang out. ✅ There's lots of communities out there. Take a look at the discovery on SKOOL and look for a group that might have clients that you might need. I'm not saying direct message them or spam them, but contribute to the group, like their comments, and get noticed. I guarantee you people will check out your profile. But I just wanted everybody in this group to be aware of how you can make sure that your user profile is up to date, how you can make links that go to places that you want people to find you. Just like on LinkedIn, you can follow people, meaning that you can click the button that says Follow. Anytime they make a post or create a post in the community that you're in, you're going to get notified.

@Tahira Wahid Yes, this is such a fun platform. I don't know if you noticed, but there are some hidden gems in it as well. I think I made a post on this here: https://www.skool.com/the-code-zone/weekly-kick-off-4-new-courses-skool-easter-egg-11042025
