Body doubling? YES, PLEASE!
If you haven't yet taken advantage of the twice weekly body doubling sessions that ian is offering , you're missing out! It's a great opportunity to get centered and focused on your day and to move through some of the biggies on your list. Try it . I never miss.

Great to see you there today Nancy. I'm glad that it was a productive hour for you and you got your emails written. Leaning on the community is a great way stay focused through light accountability and sharing each other's productive energy.

Great question Craig! Body doubling is a great way to get things done. It is a productivity technique where another person- or a few- is present (in-person or virtually) while you perform a task. Itโ€™s particularly helpful to those with ADHD because it improves focus, motivation, and accountability. The presence of another person helps reduce distractions, manage ADHD paralysis, and provide calm support. If you have dull tasks. Or are struggling to get started on something. Or just need a little motivation. Bring those things to the session tomorrow.
Dislike working from home
Hi, I love to work in coffee shops, I think I need the hustle and bustle around me to settle my nervous system so I can concentrate and get my work done. I really don't like working from my home. Will you have any meetups in local coffee shops where we can co-work together?

Hi Alecia, I feel you. I prefer being around others too. We don't organize any in person meetups yet, but think it's a great idea. What kind of neighborhood would be most convenient for you?
ADHD and honesty - ๐ŸŽ‰Hooray new content!๐ŸŽ‰
โžก๏ธ Find our newest video on ADHD and honesty here! โฌ…๏ธ Sam and Ian went for a walk in the hills above Encinitas โ€” very California ๐Ÿ˜Ž โ€” and ended up having one of their more honest conversations. Which felt appropriate, given the topic; honesty. Honesty in two kinds - the tricky ADHD kind where you say "yes I'll have that report to you by Friday" and fully believe when you say it. And the even harder kind; honesty with yourself. About where you actually are, what you actually have capacity for, how long things actually take, and why the gap between your intentions and your actions keeps showing up in ways that confuse and exhaust the people around you โ€” and you. For us, its the most important thing to get right. If you have ADHD and you don't understand your relationship with honesty, everything else you try to build, the systems, the plans, the goals, the relationships, will sit on an unstable foundation. Put it on, podcast style, while you're driving, cooking, folding laundry, or doing anything else that keeps your hands busy but leaves your ears free. Don't feel bad about the multi-tasking, for a lot of ADHD brains, it's actually the optimal listening condition. [link here.] Or if a 25-minute video feels like too much of a commitment right now, we've chopped it into five-minute segments that you can drop in and out of. Same conversation, smaller bites. Start anywhere. [link here.]

I spent a decade at Google helping leaders get unstuck as a design strategist. Now I help small businesses (with and without ADHD) get unstuck.
